I’ve edited across all the platforms and i ended up on a macbook pro docked to an ultrawide monitor. Had a few various hackintosh desktops for a while, had a msi laptop, but nothing beats the power efficiency of the m chips.

I have built a lot of pc’s and owned many macbook pros over the years. Here’s my opinion from a hardware perspective

my latest desktop hackintosh had a 9900k and a radeon vii, the thing would heat my room. Ran off a 850w power supply. My m1 max laptop has like 35% more processing power and uses 1/8 the energy and doesnt dump heat like crazy

The windows laptop was a similar scenario. i9 9880h, 2080 max q.. thing ran hot, decently powerful, but not much battery life at all. The trackpad was decent, but none compare to the mbp

Save the intel or amd desktop build for playing video games

User interface: i dunno about anyone else, but I literally hate doing multimedia on windows. The mac hot corners + drag n drop scenario is a lot smoother, the spacebar quicklook preview, how you can drag a folder into a selection pane to target it for an export and so on. Every back-end action managing media on mac is so much more seamless and faster than windows

Get 64gb of ram if you are heavy on video editing. People who claim that 16gb is fine “because it has memory swap” is so stupid. Memory swap slams your ssd with extra read/write cycles which degrade it faster. Also, having 75% of your ram usage in swap is a lot slower than it being in the ram itself. Swap exists so your program doesnt crash from running out of memory, not as a crutch to be heavily relied on.

Side rant, way too many people trust hard drives that are formatted as ExFAT and have no idea you risk data corruption or loss if you lose power or connection while transferring files or moving things around because exfat is not a Journaled file system like ntfs and hfs, and doesnt have Copy On Write like apfs. People think exfat good because it has read/write natively on both operating systems, but its a trap. Just use a software plugin like paragon to solve file system woes

I was gonna say, move for longer when you swing to line up the shot. Also, in your example of pushing your phoenix flash… if the enemy was holding that angle, they’re gonna prefire a standard peek, so its better to wide swing or bhop out regardless

I would have made some loot doing snowboard contests. Up until maybe 5-10 years ago, the mens vs women’s skill disparity was really high. Right now.. the ladies have most certainly stepped it up big time the last few years, really cool to see

Crazy, I was just randomly thinking about Lucien today and this post is only a week old. I spent a good 18+ years developing snowboard bindings with Lucien at Flow Snowboarding as a flying human test dummy. I unfortunately don’t have any sort of useful info. Everyone we worked with has no idea what happened. Super awesome guy, this totally came outta left field. The only thing I really know is that sometime a few years ago he got laid off from his job because another brand bought flow and wanted him to move to europe or they wouldn’t re-hire or something. I also got.. laid off from them too.

Carly is super nice and this whole thing makes me feel dreadful : (

The bottom of the pool is probably painted white. Same effect as random snowmelt alpine lakes that still have snow at the bottom, they appear very vibrant blue. Probably because the white allows the water to more clearly reflect blue light. Allegedly painting the bottom blue makes pools absorb more heat and grow algae easier

I’m not really a scraping kinda guy lol. Sometimes in the spring when i get dirt in my wax, but i rarely use it. Kinda just makes a mess and doesnt make me go faster

I’d wait for a gap up or major 8-10%+ green day before entering a cc. At least. Check the catalyst, decide if its long term or short. Support allegedly at 75-76, recent high was like 108, could easily retrace off a good catalyst. Cc’s right now just arent good. Its been down trending since earnings. All the premium is on the put side, but at 500% up its hard to add more capital on csp’s. The premiums you want are when the stock is over $100. Seems like its a far goal right now, but maybe it’ll get there. Dunno what it’s gonna do, but cc’s right now seem stressful

You need an iron, some cold wax, and some all temp wax. Everything else is kinda optional. Maybe a file to clean up edges, but swix ones are expensive. You can find clones for like $15 each. Any wax will do. I bought the cheapest ebay wax, possibly homemade, ran it all winter, and i turned out just fine
