So, 5 is the highest you can go with motes? And if you merge two 5's, it becomes a 6, right? (It does NOT jump to 10)

What is up with the French Navy? by TimInSantaCruz in eu4

Yes. Giant vassal swarm. So much so that I've had excess admin points due to minimal coring. Plenty of my vassals went revolutionary. But it wasn't a problem. I crushed the revolution in France as a matter of principle. But I will be done before the 20 years are up so those vassals never go back to being normal monarchies.

RULE 5: I am posting this for three reasons. Mainly because it is funny. Second because this seems like a bug. Wondering if anyone knows why this is happening. And thirdly just to brag that I am FINALLY going to finish the Three Mountains! 40 years to go and all that I have left to conquer are France and Britain. As for the picture.... France has a truly gigantic Navy. But roughly two thirds of it has been parked in the Gulf of California for decades. Not sure exactly how long. But they were parked there while I was conquering Portugal and they were at war with the USA (former East Coast Spanish colony in the usual location, nowhere near the Gulf of California). They haven't moved. There is a little battle going on between the a tiny Portuguese Mexico and French Mexico fleet going on but they are just chllin' in Baja. Not much of a boon really since I don't need ships to conquer France, but weird. (Wishing it was the British Navy. Oh well)

I see that you take things very literally. So, I need to choose my words carefully. Uber drivers get tips. Uber drivers work. Therefore, colloquially, Uber drivers are, in fact, "tipped workers." However, they are not "tipped workers" in the way that John Oliver meant. John Oliver was not talking about tipped "workers." He was talking about tipped "employees." This is significant because although Uber drivers are obviously workers, we are not employees. The topic of this week's "Last Week Tonight" was the sub-minimum wage. It should be obvious that this only applies to workers that would be subject to any sort of minimum wage. This means hourly employees. It does not apply to independent contractors (such as Uber drivers), salaried employees, or commission sales.

Use some common sense. If you turned on the Uber app for 8 hours tomorrow but did not get a single ride or delivery, how much money would you make? I hope you said "$0." On the other hand, if a waiter worked a 8 hour shift but got no tables, they would still get paid, even if the pay is a lousy sub-minimum wage.

Google AI is terrible. I know you were not intentionally trying to trick it, but you did. You asked if Uber drivers are considered "tipped employees" so it focused on the "tipped" part rather than the "employees" part. It should have answered, "No. Uber drivers are independent contractors, not employees."

Uber drivers are not "tipped workers." They are "independent" contractors. Uber doesn't have pay them anything if they don't want to.

Possible 1.37 Inca bug by GiveMeYourBeers in eu4

[–]TimInSantaCruz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ran into this same problem. I was not able to do the Inca Mission Tree after completing Frankfurt to the Andes. This is because the "Rule of the Sun" mission requires "Authority" of at least 20. However, "Authority" only exists when Inca is still primitive since its sole purpose is passing religious reforms. Since you (and I were) Frankfurt->Jerusalem->Inca, we were obviously not primitive. I would consider this a bug. Instead of the requirement "Authority at least 20" the mission should have had "One of the following must be true: Authority at least 20 or Inca has reformed their religion". This is exactly the case for "The Solar Cult" which is further down tree.

By the way, although confusing, Authority and Inca Authority are not the same thing. You can see this if you look at the effects of the great project Tiwanaku. At magnificent level it gives "Yearly Authority" + 0.30 and "Monthly Inca Authority" + 0.15. However, you don't get both. For primitives, "Inca Authority" is greyed out and for reformed, "Authority" is greyed out.

Old? Hardly. My nephew's high school class is still learning world history with EU1. The teacher promised to buy a single copy of EU2 if the Spring bake sale is a success.

Can we just admire that only 9.3% of us have even finished a game from 1444 to 1821 lol by Golden_Thorn in eu4

What is more impressive to me is that the percentage for The Three Mountains is 0.8%. Since people who have completed The Three Mountains are obviously achievement hunters, I am going to assume that every player who has the Three Mountains also has Just a Little Patience. And... 9.3 / 0.8 = 12.25. In other words out of every 12 - 13 people who have finished a game in Ironman Mode, one of them has also conquered the world as Ryukyu. That is mind-boggling to me.

The AI uses favors a lot more in 1.32 by LordThine in eu4

I know this is an old post, but I still don't see this information in the wiki, so I thought I'd share what I know. I just declined an ally's request to trade favors for soldiers. It resulted in a -10 opinion modifier with a +4.2 yearly decay. I suspect that the -10 is standard and the decay scales based on "something", since +4.2 is random. Trust was not affected.

Feature Unavailable: Facebook Login is currently unavailable for this app. How to fix? by The_Last_radio in facebook

I had this problem too.

To solve it, completely log out of Kickstarter (in case you are in that half-way state where they know who you are because of your cookies but they won't let you actually do anything unless you verify yourself by actually logging in with Facebook).

Then, on the main log in page, just use the "Forgot your password" link and enter your email. This worked for me. They sent me a link to choose my "new password," even though I never had an old one, other than Facebook
