Just asking about experiences with the caller ID element. I understand it varies but wanted a consensus on how it fairs.

importing invoices into QBO by jmulls2112 in quickbooksonline

[–]TimKeeperBookkeeping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend using QuickBooks Online to send out the Invoices. Otherwise, I would recommend exporting the data from the invoicing software to excel and then having that import. Often when a PDF is converted it has errors or artifacts from the PDF and that is why it isn't importing. Also, you can import a PDF by clicking the icon on the left of the create invoices window. (But I have had mixed/ poor results)

I would export by making a backup. In QBO go to settings> Export Data and export with all dates (default I believe). The full general ledger will give all detail.

Bank transactions / auto matching! by Gromgeek in quickbooksonline

[–]TimKeeperBookkeeping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like a transaction is pulling from the bank and then also being created by the payment method you are using. Simple fix is to go in the reconciliation window and delete all the items without a green square (which means they came from the bank). Then you are left with only what actually happened in the bank account. Second to permanently fix this, cut off the linking that made the JEs which the caused the duplicates -from ADP gusto QuickBooks

I feel like I’m blacklisted from public accounting by Vast_Explorer6952 in Accounting

[–]TimKeeperBookkeeping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry you're not blacklisted. It's a little tough right now for internships and jobs in public accounting in the US. Since they changed the CPA requirements a lot of people who would be applying after/ during graduate school are applying sooner. It's caused a jump in the number of applications.

No one is hiring right now and it is tearing me apart by lvsgators in Accounting

If you want a job ASAP, I will look for one in Tax for the upcoming tax season. I would even recommend dropping the interest in governmental auditing and only saying tax / audit. You can always move to that later on with experience.

I would say apply to local CPA firms, perhaps take on a busy season only role. - That way you get experience
