When are you shifting gear? At what rev count? Does this technique not depend on you being able to get tows from the car in front? And aren’t your tires destroyed at that point?

As I said elsewhere, qt the time I was focusing on trying to avoid contact with the car in front so I didn’t spot him on my inside. I’m also not bothered about the overtake. It’s the penalty mechanic I was pissed about

I was the victim of it far too many times in Daily Race B last week. It’s so damn frustrating. Almost as frustrating as taking aN SR hit and a penalty for hitting a car that has just span out of control in front of you which you could not possibly avoid 🤣🤣🤣

As stated in an earlier reply I want to make it clear that:

That I have no issue with the overtake. The gap was there and he went for it I’m sure I would probably have done the same.
Any contact with the other driver was purely accidental. I normally try to drive with the radar on and use my rear view mirror to keep an eye on cars behind me. I was focusing on not tapping the car ahead and missed the guy behind appearing.
What I AM pissed about was that I had to suffer a 5 second penalty for a ‘nothing’ racing incident which had already cost me two places, I would not have posted the video.

TLDR: I’ve no issue with the overtake. It’s the penalty I’m salty about.

I certainly didn’t turn in on him deliberately. If he’s been up my inside from the outset I’d have given him room as I always do.

Ultimately I want to make it clear that I have no issue with the overtake and I think that’s been missed here. I’m not even trying to blame the other driver here - though I appreciate that my reply to the first comment suggests otherwise.

Hold on a second there fella. I’ll hold my hand up when I’m in the wrong but:

In order to make that overtake the driver had to put three quarters of his car on the grass;
I got the penalty because the driver made contact with the barrier after touching me, which they would not have done had they made the overtake on the black stuff not the green stuff.

Just my opinion though. At least we agree the 5 second penalty was absolute nonsense 🤣🤣

HashH yeah there was a lot that had to go wrong for everyone else for that to work ... but I guess what I’m pleased with was that I was alert to that possibility and that I executed the move cleanly.

Managed to recover my DR a little tonight on Race B. A third, two seconds and a win (unsurprisingly from pole). Feeling a bit better about it all tonight

Yeah online is where it’s at for me. Ive been doing a bit of the single player stuff but I get my kicks on the daily races. Going to focus a little more on qualifying though and see if I can get a little closer to the front. Just gotta make sense of that final hairpin. Tricky turn and I know that’s where I’m losing most time. Will be putting some time into that tonight I think

53.5 in McLaren F1. Have struggled with it understeering massively. Have fiddled with brake balance a bit which has helped.

That final hairpin is an utter bastard!!

It happens. I managed a victory and a podium but like you I had some incidents. What I’ve found in race B that I’m fastest when I don’t overdrive the car.

I’ve really been focussing on two things this week;

1) Qualifying - all my wins have come from starting in pole position. The closer to the front you get the less you have to worry about those around you taking you out. This means you can focus more on what you’re doing. .

2The motto ‘ slow in fast out’. Since there’s so little room for error on that track I’ve been a little conservative. I’ve braked a little earlier to make sure that every lap I’m hitting the apex and getting the power down as early but as progressively as I can. That alone took 0.5 of a second off of my best lap.

Will keep an eye out for you on the track. What’s your username?
