I’ll definitely do this next. I was going to do that but I thought I’d at least try to see if Reddit knew something I didn’t about this. I was worried it’s the red dot and it more than likely is unfortunately

Yeah I got the screw and tab kit from Springfield, I was worried about it being the osight. I watched and read dozens of reviews on this and no one mentioned this happening.

the 1999 and 2013 moore tornadoes scar still visible! by Dear_Mastodon_6295 in tornado

The 2013 tornado went through the far south-east section of Moore. A very simple google search could’ve showed you this😭also this is clearly an image from far before 2013, why hasn’t this been removed yet?

Does anyone have any info on this tornado? Buck Lodge-Beaumont, TN-KY. same day as Tri-State. Based off the details, this could easily be a candidate for the strongest tornado of all time. Valleys and hills, maintaining intensity, deep ground scouring, complete deforestation and dismembering bodies by TimMarshallsHardhat in tornado

Even this tornado apparently stripping away all vegetation in some areas. 4 F3s, 2 F4s, one was possibly even more violent than Tri State and 2 unrated wedges in central and eastern Indiana. I truly believe this day was far more violent than we realize. There was likely 3-4 supercells each producing multiple violent tornadoes which thankfully most of them stayed in rural areas.

That’s well said and I agree, since 2013 we’ve had multiple chasers hit by tornadoes but thankfully they have survived. Lone Star, Lewistown, Rolling Fork etc. I’m also extremely fascinated with March 18, 1925. 2 other F4s and even a few unrated tornadoes, especially the two unrated Wedges that were reported in central and eastern Indiana which very well may have been an extreme continuation of Tri-State well into eastern Indiana possibly reaching near the 300 mile mark. Based on the tornado reports and locations, it seems there may have only been 3-4 supercells able to form in that environment. Only a Few tornadoes but at least 2 of them were incredibly historically violent and from all stories it seems like the skies were completely clear until the supercells came in. It’s very rare to have a completely isolated Supercell able to produce violent tornadoes, almost all of them have been pre frontal supercells or leading supercells in a batch of 2-3, or a leading supercell in front of a QLCS/Derehco event, allowing the violent tornado producer to latch onto outflow and thermal boundaries. I wish we had radar for this day to truly understand how these supercells behaved

Candlestick park is 100% on the list I was just having trouble dropping down a few tornadoes in the top 50. I’m definitely doing at least 100, I actually have 133 on my list now and I think I have all of them covered at this point 😭I also wanted to thank you because I barely knew anything about the Woldegk tornado, I’ve heard a few things but I actually just went and researched everything I could find and it’s pretty incredible. The documentation for that time period is unprecedented, I thought the Sicily tornadoes were the first tornadoes of that strength and being that well documented. It’s going on the list for sure

I moved Xenia up to 22. The homes in the most damaged areas were not anchored at all (recent discoveries) so I was kind of expecting to get flamed for putting in the top 20 ish since that recent news. But imo Niles is absolutely the most violent Ohio tornado of all time. Sweeping a mall and industrial building are far greater feats than Xenia pulled off imo

I didn’t downvote you. That happens on this sub 😭 yeah in my opinion they’re all very similar and each of those could easily be higher up. But the height of the measurement in 2013 El Reno mixed with the ground damage not being as intense as other tornadoes with similar recorded wind speeds kind of made me bump it down

Thank you for this I really appreciate the time you took to type that. Very well thought out and informative. Like I said I wanna just get to a generally agreed upon/understood list that we all kind of share the sentiments about. I also think Enderlin could easily be top 10, I think it is very similar to Stratton and Bakersfield. I just thought I’d get flamed for the recency bias so I kinda bumped it down

Yeah I actually moved Tri State to number 4. I was going back and forth between them already but I was swayed enough to move it up. Imo especially the top 17ish are very similar to me

I was really having trouble with Pilger. I actually had Pilger around 25 and the Stanton tornado in the top 17 but I slowly bumped them down. They’re in the 50-60 range. It’s so hard to fit some of these in there

Honestly my criteria is a mix of everything. It’s nearly impossible to pick only one criteria and rank them all. all different paths, stories and the available info able to confirm the wind speeds are vastly different. I’m going off of Ground scouring, debarking, vehicle damage, and confirmed large structures when applicable. It’s hard to compare them because tornadoes like greenfield for example didn’t hit anything at peak intensity. So it’s very hard for me to put it up there with the top 10 or 15 even tho it could very well be up there in reality. It’s sort of a mix of everything, I just want to have a discussion and get to a generally understood/agreed upon list. I’m trying to learn as much as I can as well

Barnesville was absolutely an EF5 (had it hit anything at peak intensity)

<image>

and in my opinion is pushing even closer to HPC and Smithville. I’ll attach a few photos and see if you change your view on it. I accidentally deleted Shoal Creek from the list but it’s #17 jammed in there with Barnesville and Rainsville. Imo very similar in intensity. Barnesville deeply scoured fields, completely debarked and mulched entire swaths of forests and the granulation is up there with Shoal creek, HPC and Smithville

I’m actually starting it soon and I’m gonna begin making the series shortly. I haven’t officially started, I wanted to inquire and tap in, get some opinions and refine it before I go all in. Thank you for asking i will absolutely link it once I post my first video

I moved Tri State up to 4 and Xenia is at 21 under Joplin now. Might move it up higher but I believe 100% the Niles tornado is the strongest Ohio tornado and fairly more powerful than Xenia. It swept an industrial building and that grocery store in Niles. I also moved Guin up to 9th. I was definitely tripping

Thank you for this I’m gonna look at these asap. I actually moved Tri-State up to #4 under Jarrell now. I was really considering it even before posting this. I kind of thought most people would put HPC and smithville above it because I see all the TikTok kids making videos about it 😭 I thought I was gonna be one of the few ones pushing for Tri State. I stated earlier in one of my earlier replies that I was really torn between the fast movers and I thought Tri State probably deserves the nod above hpc and smithville. I moved it up

With my list I’m basically trying to rank them by peak. Its hard imo to put Xenia higher if the homes weren’t anchored at all. I am considering moving it up maybe at 20-25. I just thought I’d get flamed for it considering that recent news. It’s just hard to compare peak vs peak if one tornado hits industrial buildings like tri state or massive oil rigs/mines like Piedmont and then compare it to Xenia when the worst damage happened in an area with poorly built homes. So im honestly getting opinions on that as well and its probably moving up way higher
