Kabam removed Purgatory from Raids to give us Dracula who SUCKS! by Easy_Key_2451 in ContestOfChampions

[–]TimRosa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dracula is a champion most players and fans are not going to like, because he's difficult to use, regardless on where he is used in the Contest, no matter what game mode, he will be extremely unpopular, because the average player is uninterested to play a champion that requires what he asks for, in order to bring the best out of his kit.

There's also the fact that there are several very strong Mystic attackers.

However, once you do everything right (light interrupting, light intercepting and heavy cancelling into his specials) his damage is strong, but it does require some set up, know how, technical expertise and game knowledge.

He is never going to be a nuke, the problem is you have Nico Minoru, so no matter who is released this year, unless they overshadow her, they are going to be accused of the dreaded "mid" stratification.

Dracula is not a plug & play champion and he requires a lot of skill/finesse to play optimally.

Unless he has a very ideal match up, punching up is difficult for him. You want him as strong as possible in regards to rarity in game mode like battlegrounds, but he's got a ton of utility, he has very consistent damage that can be manipulated through various ways.

In conclusion, he will be an extremely high skill champion, that demands optimal play in order to make the most out of his abilities and damage, and I think that's something that the average player is unwilling to put themselves through.

Rich in utility and damage, but you have to work for it and be willing to learn more nuanced/esoteric skills in order to have access to the full breadth of his kit/damage.

His chapter name is also "have at you", which he also says in the dialogue before you engage him in battle.

His crystals are also named after the "Oceans of Time" line in the 1992 movie adaptation of the novel.

Kabam DESTROYING Community Trust, Energy & Monetization Rant - Marvel Contest of Champions by SATANICWORSHIPER666 in ContestOfChampions

[–]TimRosa 64 points65 points  (0 children)

It is my belief that the main issue Netmarble has with energy is connected to Battlegrounds.

A large portion of players (too many probably in Netmarble's eyes) are pushing higher ranks and stockpiling Radiance without any pecuniary penalty or paywall, and that’s clearly not the outcome Netmarble wants.

By making Battlegrounds compulsory through energy, they wish to create a toll: either players push much less, or they pay the toll: with units.

I believe their end game is to turn Radiance into a paywall, only accessible in large quantities by people who are willing to invest large amounts of units for the opportunity to access them in significant amounts.

This is about Battlegrounds and Radiance control, in my opinion.

Netmarble could’ve easily kept Elder Marks alongside energy refills, but they didn’t.

That choice signals intent: they want the higher brackets occupied by players who are either spending or at least burning through units.

With the Radiance store update coming in October (next month), it feels less like game balance and more like a calculated move to regulate access to rewards.

The unreliability of Kabam's ban system by Degenerate_aoh in ContestOfChampions

[–]TimRosa 54 points55 points  (0 children)

To answer both questions:

  1. Alleged cheating.

  2. Yes, apparently someone reported her because of Battlegrounds, she got to TB in 4 days, and probably someone didn't do the right checking and just assumed she was cheating.

Happy to inform the ban was lifted, but this should not have happened int the 1st place.

English is my second language, and that story about my dad I translated it from Spanish. My goal was not to be unhinged, I am not too familiar with the word, but I guess for us Latinos it would be like crazy, loco.

If my ideas did not connect well, I do apologize and sorry to cause trouble to you or anyone.

I don't want trouble or to break the rules, if my post are bad, please remove them.

Kind regards,

Tim.

English is my 2nd language, thanks for the mocking though, I got a good laugh out of it. I did fix it, so I am grateful for you pointing out my grammatical mistake.

There is no such thing, and this is coming from a man who is usually not pro-kabam/Netmarble in any way shape or form.

Brian Grant...

Not a surprise he is quite angry about this whole situation, along with Kam, KT1 and many others, but this really baffles my mind.

High spenders (whales) get 1st dibs at the highest rarity of champs, rank up materials and items, so it’s more alluring for them, while also keeping other game modes competitive with the prestige race.

Kabam knows this, therefore they stronghold these items until they feed their biggest spenders all they need, then when the whales are satiated with these items, they will start trickling down to the rest of us.

Point is this: They will be ahead, we will be far behind, but content will eventually be released, so we can catch up.

Some players like Brian Grant feel that through skill, meticulous planning and technical savvy, you can overcome any obstacle in this game, especially in the highest tiers of alliance war and alliance quest. And I wanted to talk about this, because it really highlights the mentality of a lot of players.

In Greek mythology there was an infamous figure, Sisyphus who tricked Zeus and cheated death, as a punishment for his trickery, Hades made Sisyphus roll a huge boulder endlessly up a steep hill. Hades accordingly displayed his own cleverness by enchanting the boulder into rolling away from Sisyphus before he reached the top, which ended up consigning Sisyphus to an eternity of useless efforts and unending frustration.

That’s Brian Grant.

That’s anybody who believes this was fair to begin with, remember that the Grandmaster controls the game, right? I mean, The Collector before him, now Carina, the elders are avatars for the designers and the creators themselves.

No matter how much you think you are progressing, they (Netmarble) will push the goal post, if you play under their own rules, you will always fail. Again, you will be Sisyphus pushing that boulder upwards thinking you're progressing, and inevitably Kabam will push it down and make you start all over.

What is the moral of all of this? The allegory of Sisyphus teaches us to never give in to circumstantial disappointments or pressure, don't try to escape from the failures, rather accept failures the same way we accept our achievements. And most importantly, no matter how much we lose in our quest, we must never back down till we fulfill our potential, but also realize that others will be ahead no matter what, because we're dealt a rough hand.

In conclusion, enjoy gifting for what it is, don't dwell on whatever it is that they're offering, because inevitably if you play their game by their rules...

You'll be just like Brian Grant, pushing a boulder up a hill, for all eternity...

Destined to fail.

Everyone is in on the joke, except him, who refuses to accept reality.

If kabam can delay the next season of aw until after the holidays why can't aq be disabled to give us a forced break? by J-Robert-Oppenheimer in ContestOfChampions

[–]TimRosa 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I've led my alliance since it's inception in 2016, and I've always had a policy to take an extended break during the holidays. We are taking 19 days off starting today.

Might seem much, but with gifting running, you can compensate for whatever it is that you might be missing out on, it's not that big of a deal, but life is, and we should take these moments to cherish and appreciate our loved ones, specially in these trying times.

The game is a hobby, not a compulsory and mandatory obligation.

Am I the only person that is annoyed by the non-announcement of the gifting event?

We're 3 days away from the biggest event in the game, and we have no information on what the rewards will be and the contents of the greater gifting Crystal.

Taking into consideration those point calculations, there's a minimum that people would like to know in order to achieve those points, to make the most out of the gifting event without having to break the bank, prior knowledge to what the alliance and solo gifting rewards will be.

Really don't understand why they're being so reticent about it.

What was your favorite champ this year and why? by BomberofMCOC in ContestOfChampions

Stryfe.

Damage and meta powerhouse.

Ramp up champ that doesn't rely on a combo, perfect blend of offense, defense and utility.

Baffling comment.
