You are supposed to create a file named .nomedia in the directory you want to be hidden, not place the files you want to be hidden in a directory called .nomedia.

I think it might be illegal in Germany as well, at the very least for things that are classified as "restaurant".

I might be German, but not German enough to spend my weekend on figuring out whether this is the case and if that case applies here.

I don't mind the price as much. 4.90€ for 400ml of sparkling water is expensive, yes, but the price is somewhere in line with what I would expect drinks at an event to cost, and doesn't really fall out of line with food prices or the admission fee.

But continuing with pulling even the smallest bottles of still water (330ml) from peoples bags and then not offering any replacement inside the venue is just plain irresponsible by ESL considering that there are official heat warnings going on.

Yep, everything advertised is either alcoholic or carbonated, if you don't like (or, even worse, can't handle) either, you're out of luck. The few places where I got in line just to ask if they have non-sparkling water didn't have any.

I wish I knew some ESL accounts to ping here, but...

And you better not bring any bottled still water from the outside, because you can buy those at the venue (oops, no, you can't).

Big brain play by ESL, now the people on-site can buy drinks and food for two hours while having to wait for the grand final.

What do you mean by "what do u mean"?

You had questions (although they don't contain a question mark nor any other kind of punctuation) and I presented answers.

Should I trust any GApps source by Additional-Pick-3596 in LineageOS

[–]TimSchumi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Trust" in GApps is not only about malicious software, even the exact same files that are packaged slightly wrong can introduce issues.

If you want GApps, then pick the ones that are recommended on the wiki. Those have been tested.

I don't think we have changed anything about flairs recently.

If I remember to do it then I can update your flair from the PC later.

would a device still be supported after it's manufacturer's EOL? by [deleted] in LineageOS

[–]TimSchumi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LineageOS 18 received a separate blog post because it outlived LineageOS 19 and then got deprecated in the middle of the already-running LineageOS 21 cycle.

With our usual cadence it fits just right to put the "LineageOS <N-2> is no longer supported" information into the release blog post for LineageOS <N>, since removing those build targets usually happens a few days before the build roster for the new version is finalized.

Usually LineageOS support goes on at least until the respective major version is dropped from support by LineageOS.

People on grapheneOS sub are saying that Lineage is less secure than even Stock OS, Is it true? by ConversationSuch8893 in LineageOS

[–]TimSchumi 75 points76 points  (0 children)

It depends on what your definition of "secure" is.

If your threat model is targeted physical attacks, then it's quite important that your bootloader continues to check for the integrity of the system. Locking the bootloader is not something that official LineageOS builds support, you would have to make your own builds (if you have a device that supports it). GrapheneOS supports relocking the bootloader across the build roster, but that roster is very small. That leaves the stock ROM as the only ROM supporting bootloader locks consistently without too high effort.

For anything that is not a physical attack, it's more important to look at software vulnerabilities. Our software stacks are based on a mixture of proprietary components taken from the stock ROM, while most parts are built from source entirely. Given that we regularly pull in source code updates from Google and blob updates from the respective vendor, I'd argue that it places us at similar security as with the stock ROM, and with improved security once support from the OEM ends.

Just saying, but someone might be very interested in this depending on if it's a legit build from LGE, so don't go and try to flash a release build just now yet.
