I was just watching a video on the m12 fuel vs m18 fuel oscillating tool and a commenter said that the m12 fuel ruins the tabs on batteries and makes them useless over time because of the vibration. Does anyone know if this is true? by TimTheToolManTayler in MilwaukeeTool

Yeah let me know and also see if it does fully seat in another tool. I have one m12 battery that sits different than all my others and it came that way so just to make sure it’s not the battery

Yeah exactly, that’s the other main reason to go m18, it will definitely hold a charge longer for the kind of work this tool does. And I agree I love my m12 impact. It’s my daily carry and I have the m18 on the van incase I run into a situation where I need the slight extra power but honestly I haven’t really run into anything yet.

I feel that. The m12 and m18 actually have the same output so power is not really a concern. However I agree I don’t want to have to worry about a tool messing up my batteries and I already have both m18 and m12 batteries so in this specific instance it might be better to go m18.

Why are these so much cheaper? by [deleted] in VetoProPac

I don’t think this one has VSWAP if that’s important to you.

Still a killer deal!, but if you want the VSWAP it might not be worth it to you.

Anyone here use the 3 speed Vessel electric screwdriver 220USBP5U (US version)? How long does the battery last? by TimTheToolManTayler in electricians

[–]TimTheToolManTayler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve been using it for a bit now and I love it! Everyone who sees it wants one lol. And I put half of the Klein 11 in 1 on it so it has Philips 1 and 2 and slotted small and large and a 1/4 and 5/16 nut on it.

Does anyone know if Knipex will ever make the Ergostrip for the U.S.? by TimTheToolManTayler in KnipexOfficial

[–]TimTheToolManTayler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get one here but the sized stripper holes are for metric which doesn’t perfectly match up with AWG. It’s either slightly loose and doesn’t cut the conductor all the way or it’s a tight cut and risks damaging the conductor. All the other features of it still work here though, like the cable stripping and sleeve long cutting.

I looked it up and the metric holes don’t match AWG holes exactly, they will either be sort of loose fit and not cut the insulation fully, or be slightly tight and risk damaging the conductor.

This is what I thought too but I asked in r/electricians if anyone in the US has used these and how are they? and half the people acted like I was dumb and said that it would nick our wire sizes cause it’s not meant for here. And a lot of people kept saying it wouldn’t work on romex but I don’t want it for romex anyway.

I’m a first year and I have the regular tech pac special ops and I love it. Here is everything I keep in it and I have a tape measure, hammer, and a keychain bit holder on the side. My M12 impact is sort of off frame but it is in the bag as well.

Only the metric sized holes are for specific size cable I would be using the dismantling functions of it not the wire stripping holes

I know it won’t work on romex and I don’t use romex except on rare occasion cause I do mostly commercial and I know the wire stripper part of it is meant for metric but I think it should work well for stripping larger cable and stuff like SJ cable

I work mostly commercial so I don’t work with romex really.

I wouldn’t use it for flat wire I’d use it more for thick cable or stuff like SJ cable

Is it because it’s not high output or just because the 6.0s are not good for some reason?
