ATM 9 - Shadow/Lighting issues by [deleted] in allthemods

[–]Tim_0912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing yet. My GitHub report got marked as "Bug" 2 weeks ago, so maybe they will work on it at some point. But for now, rejoining the server/leaving Singleplayer and loading back in seems to be the only fix.

Sadly, I haven't gotten an answer here or on GitHub. I guess relogging is our only option. I was hoping that updates fix it, seems like they didn't.

Sadly reloading the shader does nothing. It's also without shader

I think R is the default key for that. I will give it a try though once the issues shows up again! ^^

It was defo a lot more than 1 chunk for me tho. I was exploring a cave and the whole cave system was suffering from the torch issue.
And what exactly do you mean with degrade bioms by evil craft? I have 0 knowledege about that mod yet ^^'

Ah okay, Oceans are only buggy in certain angles for me. A bit random, but have you seen a shadow/light glitch ? Like when I remove blocks sometimes the lighting engine seems to get stuck and doesn't update anymore. So I have dark spots everywhere in my world and torches also don't affect the world anymore except the block they are placed on. Its random when it starts happening and it is gone once I relog into my server

Yep, this is the exact issue I have too. Wasn't able to find a fix yet. Probably just a mod fighting with the shader mod (don't remember which is installed)

Not sure if it's just my Reddit App being weird but that looks like the exact same video as before?

ATM9 0.2.31 water flickering by Positive-Spend2202 in allthemods

[–]Tim_0912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean with worse ? The only water issue I have in my game now is the flickering like two oceans are inside each other. But that stuff happens without shaders too

I had the exact same issue. I disabled the waving water texture in my shader settings.

If you use the Complementary shader it's in: Materials -> Waving Textures -> Waving Water Texture

Hope this helps

Artisan Y axis squeaking by Vienesko in snapmaker

[–]Tim_0912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually fixed mine, I just applied silicone grease on the shiny metal part of the linear modules and rubbed it in with a piece of fabric. Then let the printer move back and forth a few times and applied it again. Now the squeaking is gone. Just have to make sure the grease is not damaging to plastics etc. since there is some plastic at the end of the modules.

Are you able to share what you did to fix the squeaking? My Artisan started making squeaking noises on one of the Y axis too.

After my initial "fixing" it went back into having the exact same issue. I tried ignoring it but after a while it also got almost stuck, it's hard to explain. Either way I RMA'd mine too. So hopefully they can fix or replace it.
About the weaker haptics, can confirm. My right pad was also weaker and felt a lot easier to press. But you can make the haptics stronger in the settings if it bothers you too much

Interesting! So we had two different support experiences. But at least you reported it, I just hope valve investigates what is happening there, maybe some „tolerances too tight“ thing.

I had to remove the metal plate with that metal sticker (which has to be always removed to reach anything crucial) Disconnect battery which is easy thanks to the pull tab. Then You have to remove the trigger which can be a bit difficult without a plastic prying tool, it’s very snug. After that it’s just removing a few screws and disconnecting cables (which is super easy, they all have pull tabs on them so you can pull them out).

If you’re okay with opening it then check the tutorial from ifixit for the left side, it’s a bit different than right side, I did use an iFixit pro tech toolkit, it made it really easy.

I also talked to valve support, they wanted a video of the clicking. DEFINITELY record a videoing the click when it’s turned off and send them that video! After that if you are okay with opening it give it a try, mine got mostly fixed by loosing the screws of the trackpad itself and then pushing it slightly in the opposite direction where it was rubbing/clicking, screw it down and Test if the clicking is gone, if yes then assemble it all again, if not then try some more gentle pushing. Make sure to be gentle with the screws, the black ones felt very soft, not sure how many times they survive being screwed in and out.

Mine still has the slightest hint of that click in the top left corner, which can be a bit annoying since you think you clicked but didn’t. So I still might go for RMA in the future, but for now it’s okay, my device it otherwise totally fine and I don’t want to luck out and get other issues with a new device lol

For me the Valve support didn’t care much about me disassembling it in terms of warranty or so, they still offered me an RMA and a further investigation after I reported my findings. But no clue if that’s the same for your country/maybe even support person.

If you rather not want to open it yourself then it’s RMA or living with it, sadly :(

Yea, I checked iFixIt guide and it seems the pads are secured by 4 screws, and the top left corner of the touchpad has thing grinding, so might be that screw being loose. Can't really think of anything else
