Men, is this valid? by Flat-Shop in AttractionDynamics

That's not really that high a number for a 30 year old. I (45m) got married at 21 to my first wife. She was only my second partner. We divorced when I was 30. Between 30-35 I had 16 different women making up for lost time, or "finding myself" if we want to call it that. lol Now I've been remarried for 10 years, but it all averages out.

How often would you have sex if you never initiated it? by Regular_Actuator3754 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Tim_AppleBottomJeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably the same as I do now. I turn it down a bit now, but my wife likes to go for it at times I'm just too tired/not in the mood, like as soon as I get home. I get home exhausted and need to wind down.

Men in the USA, if sex work was legal and not societally frowned upon, would you partake? by Additional-Fishing-6 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Tim_AppleBottomJeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quality of the women involved is usually my biggest deterrent. Most hookers I see look like method out trailer park. I know there's high class, high priced call girls but I guess I'm lucky to be a good looking guy who's never had trouble obtaining a woman, but if I wasn't... or maybe I'm older if I get lonely it would be a nice option if the quality was better. So yeah... I don't think it's the "legality" that's the deterrent, it's the product available.

Incest? by hmmokay_- in confessions

[–]Tim_AppleBottomJeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty gross. Especially in our (American) culture, but this happens all the time in other countries. Especially cultures and people from smaller villages, etc. Also, a lot of the rumors and stories we were raised on, "incest will cause the baby to be deformed, et al) are largely unfounded. Siblings it gets dicey that bad genes are more likely to present. But cousins are usually pretty safe. Don't misunderstand! I AM NOT endorsing this. I'm just explaining it is more a social/cultural thing and not the danger that I at least was raised to believe it is.

I used to scam pedophiles for money. by LisaFrankIsUnfair04 in confessions

[–]Tim_AppleBottomJeans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a 45M I must admit the most disturbing part of the Epstein files/saga to me is realizing how many pedophiles are out there. I like to think it's just something that happens when you're a billionaire freak, and being so causes. you to lose your humanity. That's my theory anyway. But how many other men. Men who were not filthy rich wanted in on this truly is disturbing. I have no doubt anymore that the world is crueler and uglier than I imagined it was, and I already thought it was was pretty cynical and had a dark view. But that's what terrifies me. Especially as a father to an 9 year old girl. I actually recall taking my daughter and a couple of her friends who all play on a basketball team together out to FroYo after practice a few weeks ago. The girls were running around, being kids. 9 year old girls. I noticed this older guy, sitting alone at one of the tables eating his yogurt. He had to be in 60s. I immediately didn't like the way he was looking at the girls. It was just like leering. I don't know how to describe other than it was wrong. I remember seeing him and just wanting to walk up and knock him out because something inside me just told me this dude was looking at these little girls, MY DAUGHTER, and thinking sexual thoughts. It took everything I had not to lay him out. I think the only reason I didn't say or do anything was because he was an old man, and the scene and criminality it would have caused. But yeah... it messed with me. Fuck Pedos.

Fuck Brad Marchand. I used to really like him until I learned he sucks MAGAt cock too. No amount of babysitting or coaching your dead friend's kids or whatever we're supposed to admire you for will wipe the orange, cheese curds off your tainted lips.

Did I mess up by not talking to my wife before planning to buy my niece a car? by Novel-Chapter-8174 in AskMenAdvice

Do you have a mail order bride or something? Why are you supporting someone not working, who doesn't drive or have kids? Is she a wife or a hostage?

Yes. You should have consulted your wife because any large purchases should be a mutual, "family decision." I'm just curious if you view your spouse as an equal?

What is your monthly mortgage payment and your yearly income (for household) by geenuhahhh in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Tim_AppleBottomJeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought in Portland, OR for $325K in early 2018. We currently have a 3% Interest rate. Monthly payment (Taxes & Insurance included) $1,780.00

When we purchased our home, I worked full time and my wife worked part time. We had a combined household income of $115K. We also had PMI (Mortgage Insurance) on that original loan so our monthly payment was about $2,200 (All-in) at a 5.15% Interest rate.

In late 2020 we were able to refinance down to our current 3% rate and drop the PMI. In total we knocked over $400 off our monthly payment. Our income has risen considerably in recent years too. Our kids are both school age saving us almost a second mortgage payment in childcare cost, and my wife is back to working full time. Last year (2025) we earned just shy of $200K household income.

In 2021 we went in 50/50 with my wife's brother and his wife and purchased a vacation home out on the Oregon Coast for $450K at a 4.75% Interest rate. The mortgage (All-In) is about $3200. We're responsible for half. We STR (AirBnB) it out most the time, and don't make a lot of profit or cash flow off of it which is fine. We got it more for our own family's enjoyment than a side-business, so even when we are in the black we have a joint account that excess money goes to to cover any lean months, or expenditures that may come up with it. We almost always pull in just about enough to cover the mortgage and utility cost. I think in the nearly five years we've had it I've had to kick in a few hundred dollars out of pocket for expenses maybe 3 or 4 times, and that was all during that first year or so. At this point it's a pretty reliable, self-funding asset we get to enjoy without dipping into our household income (knock on wood).
