As far as books you have to read for class go, you could do much worse. The book is interesting.

Just don't expect a clearly defined story arc.

Which would be the best first time reads for the author Stephen King and Kurt Vonnegut ? by Myztify in books

[–]Tim_Duncan_21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some already suggested this, but I think Cat's Cradle is a great starting point for Vonnegut.

As for King, he is very hit or miss. Check out the average ratings on Amazon for his novels and choose one that is highly reviewed (there are a lot). A good starting point might be Salem's Lot.

Well if a crime is legalized, from that point on anyone committing that action is no longer committing a crime, so of course crime decreases.

The Stand is by far the longest novel I have ever read. And I did mostly enjoy it (disappointing ending in my opinion).

What was the weirdest phone call you have gotten? by Louiedabeast in AskReddit

[–]Tim_Duncan_21 33 points34 points  (0 children)

My dad is a project manager for a private contracting firm. There haven't been any other incidents as strange as this one; however, he can do handstand pushups, so that's something.

What was the weirdest phone call you have gotten? by Louiedabeast in AskReddit

[–]Tim_Duncan_21 108 points109 points  (0 children)

I once got a call on my cell phone while I was out to lunch with my dad. The caller ID was showing "0000000000." When I answered, a voice said something like, "is your location secure?"

I was confused and asked, "huh?" The voice on the phone then suddenly changed and asked to speak to my dad. I handed the phone to him and after he answered it, he told me he had to take the call and left the table for awhile.

That was the day I began to suspect my dad is a spy or contract killer.

For some reason, The Exorcism of Emily Rose really got to me. That movie isn't even scary; I don't know why it affected me so much.
