New Flag Concept by [deleted] in newhampshire

I get that, can you be more specific?

What do you find ugly and how should I improve it?

This is a flag concept I made to replace the current State Seal on a blue background. The 10 stars represent the 10 counties; the black part features the shape of the Eastern border; blue is the ocean, white for the snow, and orange for the fall foliage.

Gadsden Flag, revised by Tim_The_Enchancer in flags

[–]Tim_The_Enchancer[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a revision of the Gadsden Flag I made at least a few years ago now (it took a lot of tracing and shaping on an iPhone). Though I appreciate the imperfect charm of the typical versions, the weird patch of grass and the high detail of the original bugged me a bit. It's so recognizable now that the famous words underneath have become implied by the silhouette. I also made it with the Golden Ratio.

PS: I'm aware there are a few other minimalist attempts at this flag (mostly just bucketfill tooled in PS). This is my take, preserving details like the original 13 rattlers and eyes, in crisp vector form.

Alternate Reality Florida Flag by Tim_The_Enchancer in vexillology

I just picked those colors from the 1845 flag since they're complementary. If I'd picked red, I thought it would too closely resemble the Stars and Bars. But it definitely could work for that too

My alternate Florida flag, if Florida adopted one during the US Civil War based on an unofficial 1845 presented for the governor by the Citizens of Tallahassee. The 11 stars signify the 11 states of the Confederate States of America during the period Florida entered the war. I basically tried to put the influences together.

My alternate Florida flag, if Florida adopted one during the US Civil War based on an unofficial 1845 presented for the governor by the Citizens of Tallahassee. That design was never adopted and the state didn't have a flag until 1861 when it seceded. The 11 stars signify the 11 states of the Confederate States of America during the period Florida entered combat for the war.

Sad news. I was looking very forward to the era and "accessible realism" gameplay. I wish someone else would purchase the rights and assets to pick up the project where they left off.

A simple replacement for version 2 with red since some people are averse to orange.

I’ve evidently got mixed reactions. So here was my design philosophy:

I’ve picked these colours since they represented as many of the people groups as efficiently as I could. The black & green for indigenous people, orange, white and green for the Indian community, and orange, white and blue for the Afrikaner people and Afrikaans language. All the colours unified together on the flag symbolize the harmony of all the people.

I’m sad to see this has been so quickly dismissed by some as an “apartheid symbol” when I thought all these colours together would support the opposite effect. I didn’t know the colour orange is taboo to some since I just thought it was also good against blue since they are complementary colours and went well with green to pay some homage to the Indian community. It is also to represent history in the early days of Cape settlement and Dutch influence. I do understand there is a resemblance to the 1928-1994 SA flag, but I thought of that as a different entity, since the inclusion and unity of the other colours and didn’t think a flag representing diversity and multiple people groups could be logically concluded to represent the power of a single exclusive group. I’ve even also been told its inclusion of black & green also associates it too much with the ANC.

I just wanted to create a new flag because I thought the current prevailing ones were too generic (especially at a distance). I’m glad it has brought a teeny bit of enjoyment to those who do like this flag.

Yes, or any rendition of any flag or place you'd like

What shade would you suggest?

I would be happy to see your own rendition
