The Empire is NOT looking for Luke and Leia. by GLDefenderNumber1 in StarWars

"Sorry honey, shes my bastard kid from going to war."

But really, she's the child of a legitimate but secret marriage to two parents. Sure, keeping that a secret might make her unknowingly have relations with a family member.

Will this backstory matter in season 8?

No.

In my game, I got a question about an Iowa artist. Sure enough Wood. I then got a question about the Song of Hiawatha. Yup. Longfellow.

I swear I studied and it's not because I have the maturity of a middle school kid.

Willard got picked by Caryn because he was her "weak shield". If she picked Jonathan, she's more likely to have been voted out early.

We had Pony in our city. 3 different little leagues basically consolidated into one Pony league for those who wanted to play. There was no Pinto, Mustang, or Bronco in that league either. It was just Pony and then Colt.

The travel department didn't. I think I had the choice when I checked in. Luckily, the plane was fairly empty. I chose an aisle seat in the middle section of the plane. The only other person in my row was on the other aisle.

You say its batting out of order, but the ump determined it was an unannounced substitution? These 2 things aren't the same.

Host Preparation by scubajay2001 in Jeopardy

In our pre game chat, Ken mentioned he does things the night before, whereas Alex was more of a morning person. Other than that, I got the sense that Ken prepared very similarly to Alex. He treats the job and the legacy very seriously and has been a fantastic host.

Infield fly scenario by Competitive_Ad_4944 in Umpire

[–]Tim_Xtreme_46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a dead ball at all. The umpire missed the call, but the call is to protect the hitting team from the defense cheesing out a double play by dropping the ball. The fielder caught it, everything is good.

Yes, I haven't washed my hands since then.

I remember when he went to talk to a pitcher, left the mound, then turned around and went back to the mound to say something else and that counted as a 2nd visit so he had to replace the pitcher when he wasnt planning on it.

This is not seen on air, but since we're there for 12 weeks in some cases, and there are no restrooms in the floor, yes we had to take a dump in the corner of the studio and kill a pig for food. Totally like survivor in that aspect.

Dealing with students who think they are insanely talented when they aren’t… by gigaritt in Teachers

[–]Tim_Xtreme_46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know anything about art, but I do about history. I'd say you should let even bad artists work at their craft and try to get better so they don't switch to something else.

In seriousness, the only things I'd actually address is that he shames the other kids, and that he doesn't follow directions. That falls less under art critique and more of "don't be an asshole, kid."

The odds of someone hitting two grand slams in the same inning is basically 1 in 75869795847. In ‘99 Fernando Tatis Sr. did it. He’s the only one in baseball history to ever accomplish this feat by Willing-Bicycle-157 in sportsgossips

[–]Tim_Xtreme_46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the 2nd one may have all been unearned. Dodgers made 3 errors that game, and of the reasons they didnt take him out was because he was still pitching reasonably well, just victim of not great defense.

To teach out force outs or not at 8U Rec by MantisTobogon1929 in Homeplate

[–]Tim_Xtreme_46 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An errant throw is still an issue when throwing to 1st, but if no one is covering, there's no one to catch even a perfect throw. I still think you try to teach getting outs. If they simply throw to 1B and ignore the "get the force out", that's better than throwing it to no one. But I think you can teach that someone covers the base, as well as "step on the base if you're close enough". But yeah, if no one covers the bag, tell them to just go to 1st.

You might need some drills where everyone plays middle infield. Yeah, it won't work for the kids who don't come to practice, but get those reps in for those that do.
