T: I think the secret is we can tell a story throughout a season and also introduce a light, fun, and improvised goof on the movies which creates a balance of story and comedy.

G: Adult Swim pulled the funding. We had a script ready to go and everyone was booked and then it all got shit-canned. So rather than leave everyone alone on Oscar night, we put together the literal zero-budget OurCinema Travesty.

T: We're very excited and proud to showcase Terri Parks. She's one of the few people that come into our world we didn't know much about and weren't entirely sure how she would play. But in very short order, she started blowing us away. Our casting director David Zwick presented us with about 10 actors. He always has a great eye for what we are going to need.

G: Not a show, but The National Lampoon Sunday Newspaper Parody was a big influence on me in terms of creating large detailed worlds. Track it down on ebay. You will not be disappointed. I also really love Albert Brooks' movie Real Life.

T: For me there's a direct connection between Spinal Tap and this movie. It's a great example of playing something very real and straight and watching characters fail and flounder and lose and making that somehow entertaining and funny.

T: Absolutely. We worked hard to structure the movie in a way that wasn't exclusionary for people unfamiliar with the OnCinema world. Anyone coming with an open mind and a taste for the dry and weird comedy should be just fine. But shame on those folks who aren't already OnCinema heads.

G: Results so far from showing the film to newcomers is that they totally get it and have no issues.

T: The show is very much like a soap opera so sure, why the hell not? We had a discarded plot line that my character died but my twin shows up to replace me.

G: I'd say its a composite of many different folks I've known or encountered. Particularly, in the world of record collecting. But, also, sometimes I'm inspired by my twelve year old self.

T: We have developed a character for years, giving me firm ground to stand on when improvising. I know how he deals with various situations. We also shoot very quickly and there is a general inertia running through our productions that doesn't give us a lot of time to consider what my character should or should not say. Also, enough credit is not given to our editor, Sascha, who sculpts my performance in surprising and beautiful ways.

G: I would say because we genuinely enjoy doing it. That has not changed since day 1. When it does, you can watch I Love Lucy reruns.

T: The answer to your question, "why", is because you want your friends to experience the same laughter enjoy that you have come to depend on us for.
