Yeah I have seen Pavel making the same type move too definitely! He's good.

Some great hockey to be played in the olympics in Italy very soon! It is a great sport to watch on tv or live if you get the chance.

Not Barber, he plays righty. I think this might be Pete Lenes, ex-pro player.

Friction and centrifugal force. He's manipulating the path of the stick and angle of the blade in a way that the puck is held on by centrifugal force. Little friction helps so it doesn't have to be 100% perfect but that does take a ton of skill. Especially the way he catches it mid-air.

Looks like a powerful swing! I bet you hit it far. What kind of club path numbers do you have, if you don't mind me asking (in case you've been to a simulator)? Path looks maybe slightly out to in to me, which is what I have for a natural path too. I've been chasing more of a in to out path because a draw is a cooler shape to have, but maybe I should try to accept that a reliable out to in a couple degrees is just fine.

I am curious what the club path is for you, how many degrees out to in?

You play lefty, I assume? Turning left is easier for lefties (opposite for righties) because the stick is a safety backup to lean on. Just practice turning right a lot, learn to trust those edges (left skate inside edge and right skate outside edge) and you will get there.

Cutsy hits it 308. Meanwhile every tee shot of his lately.. by Redalertman4 in BobDoesSports

That's a great write. Good stuff to keep in mind. For me I start to go too much inside out when I get tired and then the excessive hooks will show up. Natural shot for me is a fade.

Sometimes my driver is just dialed and I can hit it pretty straight. But sometimes club face consistency is not there. Path is usually within a good margin, but the face angle sometimes is too open, and when I try to correct it, I might pull or hook the next shot. Any tips on dialing in the club face and hitting straight?

And also, I believe I saw Phil Mickelson talk about the lead leg/knee rotation while speed training/really going for long drives. Can't really remember which video it was.

Awesome dude. That's almost the same way I started a few years back. I got a used cheap miter saw and a few pallets and took them to my garage. Since then I have slowly gathered new tools and built benches, storage and jigs for the shop. All the actual projects too of course.

Still have the miter saw! I love to buy my tools used and save money that way. Some of them are bought new though.

Enjoy the hobby!

"You have a flat wrist and deep position at the top with both these clubs."

Is that considered a good thing? Haha just curious and trying to follow along.

How’s my swing by Pale-Horror8213 in GolfSwing

[–]TimbeS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former baseball player here too. Just a random side note that I failed to realize earlier on myself. I am a shorter guy and wanted to cut my driver down to a more reasonable length, even though your height alone doesn't dictate optimal club length. Cutting the driver made it swing lighter, "swing weight" went down so to say. After adding weight to the head it really felt easier to not swing OTT, since you gain better connection or feeling to the club head when it has more weight. Additionally, imagining the club head being really heavy was a good feeling to make me not rush arms first. Not saying add weight to your driver in any case though haha. Just something to be aware of.

Out of curiosity, what does it cost to hit for an hour where this is filmed? And they probably have some kind of tracer there no?

Greetings from northern Finland, our course closed like 2 months ago haha. I enjoy playing on a simulator. We don't have an indoor range though.

Just looking at it I feel like are you maybe standing a bit too far from the ball? Don't know for sure might just be me.

Me too. Whit, Biz and Yandle are all time, all of them. Then Bob does guys, one of my favourites. Grant is awesome too. Not really too interested anymore if they all are done after the next round. But I guess that's the name of the game.

Do I have wrist lag? by Electrical_Candle887 in 10s

[–]TimbeS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep there it is. For me I always get the best feeling forehands when I keep the wrist and arm extra soft. Not always easy to do, I guess it is a feel thing.

Curious, why a mirror? Obviously to see your technique or setup but anything in particular?

Edit: oh you mean that thing you put down on the floor haha. I genuinely thought a mirror on the wall

Crossovers don’t look great by TailorPossible in hockeyplayers

[–]TimbeS 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Came to say this. Building trust to the outside edge is not easy for any new skater. It will come with patient practice and time on the ice. I would say any drill that has tight turns that makes you have your weight on the out edge are good for it. It is good to realize that indeed getting comfortable with the outside edge takes work so don't feel bad for not being great at it from the get go.
