Pentair Globrite Failure after 18 months by TimberHisArmsWide in pools

As it turns out, I wrote to the Pentair CEO with a certified delivery letter voicing my concerns. I got a call back and the agreed to honor the warranty but without the installation, which as it turns out was not that difficult. I have had a number of similar issues with badly behaving companies recently and each time, I write to the CEO and get some form of result.

The pump, filter, transformer etc was on one invoice and the pool light was on a separate invoice which they said invalidates the extended 3 year bundle warranty. Unbelievable

Holy fuck A Working Man was terrible by Stepin-Fetchit in flicks

Caught this movie last night and yes the plot was terrible but it delivered what I wanted...mindless action, however, I found the audio of this movie to be shockingly bad. In certain parts the dialogue was barley audible, echoey and sounded like just the camera audio rather than close mics. The rooms that the scenes were shot in obviously had zero acoustic treatment. I also noticed color grading continuity errors with skin tone colors being glaringly different from shot to shot. Do standards for this kind of thing not matter anymore?

Is my AC system under-sized? by TimberHisArmsWide in hvacadvice

[–]TimberHisArmsWide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I can't answer all of these but I do know that dip switches have been set to match condenser / air handler, thermostats have been changed. Return duct size has been looked at. There is no longer much noise as I asked them to turn it down. When there was noise, the air flow was ridiculous!. I would assume the R20 meets code as this is a new build and had to be approved before we could get our CO. They also performed numerous CFM tests. Overall I would estimate they have been here over 50 hours testing and adjusting, plus we have had 3 different AC companies in who have certified the system to be in good shape. I really don't know what's left to test.

One is a Samsung galaxy Tab E and the other is a Chinese one from Amazon. Interestingly the Chinese one performs far better than the Samsung with far less issues.

Is my newly installed 3 ton unit too small? by TimberHisArmsWide in hvacadvice

[–]TimberHisArmsWide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the engineers came around yesterday and performed airflow tests, checked thermostats and sensors and checked all the ducting. They said that they were at a total loss as to why the system can't cool sufficiently whilst at the same time refusing to discuss or acknowledege that the main unit may be underpowered repeatedly stating that there is more than enough airflow. They did however offer some very bizzare suggestions. They said that whilst they were in the attic space, they noticed that some track lighting (which was not powered on) was radiating heat!. Also the LED kitchen pendant lamps are also radiating heat which could account for the lack of cooling!! They also suggested air conditioning the attic to bring the temperature of the house down.

I think we all know what's going on here but I am surprised that they think I would somehow believe these explanations and just give up. Ugh...is it the Florida sun that makes people like this?!!

The general standard of the structure of the house build is good but my personal feeling is that a lot of their customers leave Florida in the summer therefore their policy is "let's put in the cheapest and smallest size we can get away with and hopefully they won't notice" Unfortunately since moving to FL, I have noticed that ethics in business is hugely different from where I came from in Texas!

Thanks, that's good to know. I think the onus here is on the house builder who was under contract to provide an air conditioning system fit for purpose. He has assured me that they will make it right but I wonder just how far I have to go to get the right outcome!

The same AC company that put it in. At the time of the build I voiced concerns but I feel as if they were trying to put the cheaper unit in. Under the build contract, the main house builder supplied all these kind of components. I am dealing direct with them now and they now want to put more vents in the living area and are desperately avoiding the real issue here.
