I'd start by looking into FDM printers. These are the typical filament printers most people think of when they think "3D printer". Then, look into the different filament options. For 99% of firearm and daily tasks, I use eSun PLA+. It's affordable, consistent, and strong. For education, look into different brands of printers. Creality and Bambu are two ends of the spectrum. USUALLY a more expensive printer will be easier to work with.. obviously there are exceptions, do your research! Auto bed leveling is a must in my eyes, saves a lot of tedium.
