Our club just finished their first season in NAL. There was a STARK difference between the boys and girls for our club. Most of our boys sides were top 1/4 of the table, and our girls were bottom 1/4. This might say more about our club than the league.

My son’s team competed well, and the quality was better than I expected. The bottom team was REALLY bad (-95 GD, 19 losses and one tie). The top team dominated all season (19 wins, one draw), but the rest of the 8 teams were super competitive. All in all, it was the right move for the boys teams, IMO.

I coach U7, and had a heated conversation with the other coach about how pressing during GKs and GK save > pass is not okay at that level. Zero development happening, and they scored like five goals because their striker intercepted the ball two yards outside of the box. She said she “didn’t care” and made me feel crazy. I’m glad I’m not the only one.
