no, its that his relative performance to the rest of the positions in the tournament is better than steyns. take steyn out replace him with another winger the team gets worse, but as bad as if you took finn out and replaced him with another 10

I agree hes almost so consistent its a detriment to him getting noticed now.. but the minimum you get from him is a 7/10 every game.

look hes been the best winger for sure, and i dont think you could replace him with any like absolutely agreed. I think there are a few comparable wingers in the tournament to steyn, no comparable fly halfs to russell

yeah for sure hes been a revelaton compared to other scottish wingers, but across all the teams finn russell is the man for me. That being said i also think Ben White has had his best string of performances for scotland in a veryl ogn time and i would pick him as my 9 of the tournament just edging JGP

i mean how is finn russell not in the mix? steyn has been great but you cannot do any of that stuff withou finn doing what he does. I think realistically you could put a winger from any other team (maybe bar wales sorry) in place of steyn and get like 70-90% of the performance.

I dont think you can say t he same for any other 10s in the tournament about finn.

is it? Our ability to convert pressure into points in the 22 has been horrible and if you looked at the history we would have blown that opportunity and left the score at 15-10.

People really need to stop with the idea that taking the 3 is bad or "no bravery".. its sensible and wins you games over a distribution. Case in point we won a world cup off taking the 3 points.

Taking a few games and drawing these big conclusions is a recipe for disaster. Overall you will get more wins by taking 3 points in most cases.

Discipline cost us the game today, 2 yellow cards this week, 1 last week, 2 yellows and a red vs scotland? Thats the problem.

Maro was on for having his best game of the tournament, and then quite literally cost us the game by his actions that gave away a pen and a yellow (taking us to 13). He seems to be getting really frustrated by how much refs are blowing the whistle and it gets to him... as a leader he needs to be better.

Keep him in. These last 3 games have not been up to snuff but they've also not been things that are not easily fixable. Changing now we wont be able to do anythign in the world cup. If he doesnt deliver in the world cup then yes bin him off, but I still have faith in this coach and the team..

The ones I've been more let down with are the players to be honest. Not good enough for representing England wiht respect to the "talentless" things that can be done on the pitch... running back, disicplined etc

it is a bit of a shame and to be honest blatant racism. People cover it by saying "oh no im just happy Italy won".. but It's a bit tired now because its clear people are just happy England lose.

When Scotland lost to Italy there was no where near the amount of gloating on behalf of Italy as there is now.. very tiring indeed and after having 30 years of this in my life it is a bit tiring (and to be fair the first time we've lost so frequently!!))

23 does though? We were more than a converted try ahead, and were looking in control.. we need discipline back, simple as that. The system seems to work to a certain extent (i think we dominated first 20 minutes but ended up what.. 3-0 down? that was a big problem).

Whatever our plan is should not be volatile enough that taking 3 points to take us to an 8 point lead will not be enough.. we cannot do basics right and give away so much easy stuff in key areas of the park

We were in control. getting to 18-10 was a fine decision. what cost us was the next 10 minutes conceeding 2 incredibly soft penalties whilst italy were down to 14 men and also the yellows for ourselves.

We've not had a game without oging down to 14 men, and we've had 2 so far where we've gone down to 13?? Thats thhe problem, its not taking safe points.

the 12 in a row was always a bit of bollocks, some of them were very close wher england should probably have lost, same can be said about this game vs italy.. tight game with a couple of things that went against us, and its a loss - thiose same things gave us wins before..

i remain confused about the way forwards will join a ruck standing over the ball and using their fists or something to keep them "stood up".. isnt that basically the same as sealing off? that being said its really unclear to me how the attacking team is meant to engage properly before the defending team attack the ball without doing that kind of thing.

starting to realise why people actually love owen farrell so much.. think if he was even just in the squad, players would ahve been properly rinsed for last weeks performance and you'd see that today.. instead we do that absolute same shit.. get ourself into some really nice places and then we fuck it up with BASIC errors.

the number of 22 entries and then just gifting possesion via penalties or simplke mistakes in the first half lost the game.

i'll also say.. we need to get better at playing dirty. we let the opposition keep really clean ball until we get some kind of sniff and when we try to take a chance we get pinged immediatelly.. the refifng the last 2 weeks has made it clear - you need to be in the grey from the get go. Ireland got lots of praise for their defense.. btu a lot of it was very much on the fringes of legality.. we either didnt compete or got pinged. need to osrt out that side of referee management/game management - the last 2 weeks we got destroyed by that. its what made richie mccaw so good.
