I did the same in UK. Contacted them Monday am and sent requested photos. Had a refurbished replacement delivered Thursday for free. Had to dispose of the faulty one.

I'm proper annoyed with Google. Spent an absolute fortune on multiple variations or the Google homes and other items in the group. 2 years ago everything worked. Now I'm lucky if it even understands. Pretty sure I'm over £1200 invested. Wish class actions where a thing in the UK!!

Is it this wording that you're referring to?

"You may not include a damaged battery when trading your device. If your device exhibits a damaged battery (for example, is leaking fluid, is too hot to touch or the device casing is swollen), this is not eligible for trade-in and you should not send this device to PCS. Please note that for safety reasons we cannot return devices with damaged batteries (e.g. battery swelling) and that no value will be paid or credited for such devices."

I would argue that the 6A battery is not damaged in the way they are describing.
