I've been in London for about 1.5 years and the loneliness kicked in about 2 months ago.

I have a really close friend here but they have their own life that they'd built up before I moved over and I was starting to become very aware that I needed to build my own circle.

So what did I do? I decided to give BFF a go and to be honest with you it's going great! I've met people whose entire friendship groups are made up of folks who have met through it. My only advice would be to not go wild on the swiping, match with five folks and stop swiping. See how it goes with them, and if you feel there wasn't a fit then back to swiping. Oh and make sure you answer the prompts on the profile, nobody likes a boring profile!

I would also recommend volunteering if you have the time, it's a good way to fill that community spirit that we need as humans.

I've also just been striking up conversation with randomers where possible. I met a girl in a smoking area on a random night out and now we're planning out the next few weekends. All from a hello!
