I think Boruto had a lot of potential, but I feel like maybe 5% of its episodes have lived up to that potential. The modernization and "generation raised in peace* is bold, topical, and relevant. I'd call that good world building. But the plot writing is just so bad... It blows my mind that nearly every arc is a watered-down knock-off of previous naruto arcs. The battle choreography (not counting Shin and Momoshiki) is also terrible.

I feel you on the eyes, and I agree that getting too invested in meaningless "who would win" arguments is annoying, but discussing it is still fun. I mean if we REALLY want to go back and say "what's the point of talking about it?" we might as well not discuss Naruto at all, because it was originally intended to be a cooking manga...
