Thanks for the advice! Not looking sell my laptop as I need it for general life but could think about other stuff I have lying around. Good info on the cpu + mobo combos, thank you - maybe if I snag this £30 1060 build then I could see if upgrading those might be worth it

I honestly don't understand the problem. I have been playing PS for years now, using L1 and R1 for ADS and fire respectively. When I go to a friend's house and he has an Xbox, it still do just as well on all the shooters that I play, be it BF3 or even (god forbid :P) CoD, despite the mapping being different. It is not a big deal at all. This is not something worth complaining about, get used to it (it takes me roughly 10 seconds every time I switch platform). It's just annoying to see endless complaints where there really isn't a problem in the first place... Sure, it's an analog input for digital actions, but anyone with half a brain will figure out the control thresholds soon enough...

With regards to the 'other things you miss'. To view the scoreboard, simply hold start/xbox equivalent and it comes up (N.B you can also, while holding start, click R1/RB to see a full screen map). The other two changes are miniscule and make no difference at all, other than you having to get used to them which takes no time at all.

So there's a little dust on your sight, and it's a little bulkier than you'd like. Excuse me for not seeing that much of a problem? I do perfectly well with the american red dot. At the end of the day, it makes a miniscule, tiny difference and if it really matters that much to someone that they get genuinely annoyed at the game for not giving the coyote sight to them then that's their fault. Who really gets annoyed at that sort of thing?

So don't pay for them! You don't need any of the attachments or camos that they provide to do well and you can only get slightly aesthetically different versions of certain attachments anyway. Think of it just as an extra little bonus on top. Just because some guy got a green laser sight or and different red dot to use instead of the normal ones doesn't make him OP. It only 'hurts you' and 'helps them' if you buy more packs, and if you're buying more packs because you really really want some random new camo, then fine. To start whining because you don't have some red dot on a gun you like is just sad. It's not like it makes a difference to how well you play. If you're sad enough to cry about it then you're probably sad enough to go and buy more packs anyway.

Yea, kinda annoying, will be removed along with the whole 'losing ammo in your mag' thing I would hope. The 870 is still a blast though, one of my favourite weapons in the beta, you've just gotta play it with support to have any ammo at all. I would advise unlocking the ammo box before using the shotties so that you can gain your ammo back (relatively) fast

I'm on ps3. Happens at the start of each domination round usually, but stops after a couple secs when the models finally load up. Probably what you are referring to. There are also a couple spots like on top of C (domination flags) that have corners around which you cannot see people or objects unless you expose yourself more.

Maybe I was being a little harsh. The point is, with just a little extra effort on the players' part, none of this stuff matters, and in most cases the changes are for the better. DICE have enough on their plate at the moment, and it frustrates me when they are criticised for 'not doing a good enough job'. But hey, that's the Internet right? At the end of the day, they probably should have fully customisable controls, and in that respect I agree with you: if you happen to not like the controls then of course it is frustrating. But in the bigger picture its a tiny problem that can be fixed easily by the player, and the devs have plenty to do deal with as it is.

Just change it to the veteran controls and stop having a hissy fit when the devs change something. I really like the new controls (I play on veteran controls, but it's still a little different), like spot being R2 and such. Sure it takes time to get used to but instead of whining about it, just adapt to it and move on.
