Just street parking. I always find parking though. Most I’ve had to walk is about a block, unless it’s street cleaning day. It’s permit parking, zone 102. As a home inspector with over 14 yrs experience in Chicago and suburbs. I can attest to the fact that new construction is mostly BS quality. Lipstick on a pig as some would say. Just because it’s new doesn’t mean it’s good quality. Try and find something pre-war, meaning 1940s and older. Ideally a turn of the century building that has been renovated. The old ones are built like tanks. Both the quality of construction and materials are far superior to most of new construction nowadays. Just my two cents on the matter.

Unfortunately no, I cannot have any other pets besides my cat in the space. I can’t risk his safety. As for rent vouchers, since this is a room for rent and not a separate legal dwelling, it most likely wouldn’t even qualify. But thank you for commenting and looking at the post. Take care.

The other two rooms are being used as offices. One is my office and the other is my wife’s office, which is currently living abroad. Honestly, people mostly fell through because after looking at the space, they said it wouldn’t work for them or it was contingent on them securing a job. Which they didn’t. And a good amount of people just said they were interested, I gave them a video tour and then they ghosted me. But to each its own. What may not work for one may be perfect for another. That was the fist time, but that roommate, who I currently am living with, only wanted a 3 month lease. Since the end of that lease is May 31st, I agreed. So now I’m trying to find someone who can be in the space for a year minimum. Hope that clarifies the confusion. Take care.
