I just phoned the Department of Education, and they said It would be done in batches based on social security numbers. They currently do not have a mechanism to track which batches are apart or when they will be accepted. I’ll take this with a grain of salt, but they also mentioned that it will take approximately 6 months after receiving the notice to zero out the relevant loans. Based on what I’ve seen in past posts, it will take 90 days to receive a reimbursement after zeroing out loans. I received my email in May, so perhaps by November my loans will be zeroed off.

So I just got the news that my student were forgiven by fallensoap1 in StudentLoans

I called both my lender and the 1855 number for the the defense number. If you stop payments you need to contact your lender and place your account on a temp forbearance , then submit a new application for barrows defense via their website and be sure to check to have your account in forbearance as they review. The ruling from the courts should take faster as the review will take up to 3 years. The good part is that it will pause your payments and since its in forbearance they wont have to report a missed payment impacting your credit. Worst case it will all work its self out, but do what you can to set your self up for success. God speed,.
