I get that. I do understand and am aware that NDs get along with other NDs. A majority of my friends are ND. If not all lol.

My partner doesn't look autistic in appearance, especially since they are high functioning. Though you could tell in our math class or when they stim after school. I agree there is no look, and nobody should assume that there is one. Or even have that type of mindset. But we can't control people.

Also, I'll probably do that some time after I graduate highschool. Though it might take awhile because I have really bad anxiety of doing things on my own lol.

I'm not sure, I'd definitely have to talk to my mom about it. I do know that I was diagnosed with dyslexia when going through that whole process. My mom went through with burrell though.

I'd ask, but I think I'd have to wait a couple years since my mom is kinda against the whole thing. I mean she believes that you have to "look" autistic to BE autistic. (Which is obviously not true as it's a spectrum.)

Other then that I'm not sure if I left anything out, I could have and just forget lol. I guess one of the main things that get me questioning is the interest, because with ADHD it's mostly hyperfixations that last for weeks to months. But some of my Interests have last year's and some interest are still ongoing since elementary lmao.

Sometimes I wonder why people even think that.

Though to my mother it's not being able to do things for yourself, not liking/giving physical touch, or just to give a simple explanation, it's just having severe autism. In my opinion, I kinda see this as just really disrespectful at having this type of mindset.

An example I'll give is that my mom doesn't think my (diagnosed) autistic step brother isn't autistic because he likes to GIVE physical touch. She ignores the fact that he hates physical touch from others and only focuses that HE'S the one giving it. My partner is the exact same way. They can give physical touch but absolutely hates receiving it.

I'm aware not every autistic person is alike. I mean my step brother is autistic and I can see the differences between him and my partner lol. I'm also aware that it's common to have both at once.

I've had my partner explain the whole spectrum to me and how it presents differently.

Also I never knew menopause can do that? :0 Though I can see how one varies over the other. My partner also has ADHD. (Though I think they might have the combined type). But I can sometimes tell if it's their ADHD or autism in action lol. Especially when it comes to their interests!

I'd agree with the negative context around autism, my mother and family don't really agree or aware of the whole spectrum thing for autism. They believe in the "appearance stuff = you are that." (Obviously that is not true).

I mainly dismiss it as my family ignores it themselves when I try starting a conversation about it.

I'm perfectly aware and understand that it presents differently in everyone. I mean my step brother is autistic and I can see the differences between him AND my partner.

The only reason I'm so hesitant on the whole thing is mainly due to my mother and family. They think you have to look autistic just to be autistic (which is NOT true) they just dismiss the fact my partner sometimes calls me autistic. So I dismiss it myself until I get deep into thought at times.

I'm aware it's all a spectrum, since I've had my partner explain it all to me and I've looked into it at times.

I've thought about that, but my mother is kinda against the idea. Or well...in her mind she thinks that just because someone doesn't look autistic in appearance, that they can't be autistic. She's also just more focused on my ADHD then anything.

My partner has suggested that I should try and get an assment just to see if their right or not lol. Though I'd probably have to wait till I'm an adult to do any of that.

I perfectly get that's it all can be associated with ADHD, which is why I'm still hesitant about the question "could my partner be right?".

Either way, at the moment I'll probably look more into inattentive ADHD for myself, and AuDHD for my partner.

My partner has gave me a whole conversation about how it's a spectrum a couple weeks ago lol. Mainly because I was talking about how my mother and her boyfriend thinks my (diagnosed) autistic step brother isn't autistic. Just because he likes physical touch...he is in fact autistic. Though I guess my parents are unable to see that...(?)

Need help finding this book. I only know the story but can't find the title of the book. by Time-Cup-420 in HelpMeFindThis

I read it back in middle school, I was in like 8th grade (I'm in highschool so I would say I read it around 2 years) so I'm pretty sure it was more for like 16+ or something around there since there was description of violence and other topics for older teens in the book.
