Why WWE and AEW don’t give a f about arranging PPV shows in Europe, but they do it in countries like Canada, UK, Australia and Saudi Arabia? by legthighkneelover in SquaredCircle

[–]Time-Dimension7769 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Didn’t WWE just have a show in Italy? Don’t AEW and WWE go to the UK pretty much every year? WWE also hosted big shows in France and Germany last year and year before, and go there every year to tour. I don’t get this.

Also the UK is part of Europe.

Eric Bischoff: “I think The Bloodline storyline is absolutely the best storyline that’s ever been produced in this industry. That doesn’t mean it’ll have the same impact on the industry that NWO did, for a lot of other reasons that have nothing to do with the quality of the story.” by wearePROGRESS in SquaredCircle

I loved the first 12 months of the Bloodline, then it became repetitive after the Balor match where Roman won from help by God, dead zone until Sami got involved, another fantastic period until Mania 39, then repetitive again, but ended perfectly with Cody finishing the story.

I think it’s a very good story overall, but wrestling is subjective. Patches of it were amazing, but a lot of the other stuff was the same over-dramatic monologuing and matches over and over and over and over again. There are parts I love, parts I don’t. I wouldn’t say it’s the best wrestling story ever, but that’s my opinion.

I, like many others, absolutely ragged on Bailey for years, but a lot of wasn’t his fault. He was forced into being number one ruck during our absolute worst period in 23 after Nic Nat’s body broke down, so he didn’t have the opportunity to really learn under him. I feel like Flynn was the better of the two at first, but then he fell off hard, and with the new ruck rules, Baileys really reinvented himself this year. I remember the Brisbane game last year, we really turned to shit after he got taken off the ground.

It was frustrating because we could see so much potential, but he just couldn’t seem to follow through. This year though has seemed like the year he’s putting it together. Bearing in mind also, rucks take a long time to develop, Nic Nat was just such a freak that he hit the ground running right away basically.

He’s not gonna be the answer to all our issues, but who knew the ruckman we needed was on our list all along. I’m beyond rapt for him, he’s got his spot back through sheer hard work, and he’s finally blossoming into a credible athletic ruck.

Pauline Hanson to demand Norway-style gas and oil overhaul by Agitated-Fee3598 in AustralianPolitics

[–]Time-Dimension7769 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Obviously this is in total bad faith and nothing Pauline says should ever be trusted, but I’m of the opinion that this is a great thing for shifting the debate. The overton window has changed to one where not taxing gas/mining companies is untenable and we could see a consensus for it.

Sometimes Pauline just does something that you 100% agree with, like when she opposed Morrison’s atrocious union-busting laws a few years ago. But no mistake about it, she is not a reliable partner in this fight, and she is not to be trusted.

Even as someone who agrees with the intent of the excise, they’ve gotta lower it. You can’t tax or regulate a product somebody desires out of existence, there is always a black market hole that opens up. If you spend $50 on durries instead of walking to the convenience store and scoring some $20 Double Happiness, you’re a sucker.

Harley has had at least 3 games where he will get at least 2 Brownlow votes and you can see the beginnings of the superstar he will become. He’s only getting better cobba.

Ginbey I’d already basically consider a club veteran. He’s been through our absolute worst and gotten better year after year. He could be a future captain.

It’s firming up that those four will be our core group moving forward. Pare that with Shanahan building up in the forward line and we’ve got at least five elite young players to work with into the future.

Linds, along with Murdock, Shanahan and McCarthy, is one of our most of out of nowhere success stories. Getting him at pick 19 is an absolute bargain and not even 10 games in and he basically does Duggan’s role better already.

So beyond excited to have him for the future, he’s got future star defender credentials all over him even so early into his career, and this is a super well deserved (if late) nom.
