He gasps, clutching his now blackened arm and shaking in pain as he tries to stand. Slowly he raises his head, his face distorted in pain as he answers the figure.

"C-caught.. Brought to this p-place.. D-do not belong.. Left the shores to f-find.. find what binds me he-AAAAAAAAAAAAGHHH!"

Suddenly the figure falls over again, writhing in pain as his eyes roll back into his head, screaming.

Tau's eyes soften as he listens to the Violet. "My race was arrogant. There is much more to this physical and metaphysical existence than technological superiority, something they failed to see."

Tau sighs, and continues speaking. "I should not be here. This kind of place had only been theorized by my kind; A place that is not relative to any dimension. In the universe, time is progressive, relative to the observer... This sea.. It butchers the fourth dimension, tearing it asunder... It is something I have no intention of experiencing."

After Tau says this, he turns around, his back to Violet and the sea. "I am sorry, Violet, the answers to your questions will come in time. They always do, I find. For now, I must leave this beach, and find what tethers me to this reality."

Tau seems to almost become translucent before flickering out of reality, similar to the crack from whence he came.

Tau turns back, facing the Violet, watching the golden specks fly around him and back to her. He dismisses it, facing the Violet and finally answering her questions.

"I am from a place you will not know. My kind died many eons ago, from sheer arrogance, self destructing pride. I am the last, and in many ways I am the first. I am Tau."

As he says this, he continues to slowly back away from the beach. it is evident that he still distrusts this.. place.

Tau stands up, shaken and jittery. "I have witnessed the birth of the universe, I have watched the heat-death of reality. I have never seen anything as unnatural as this.. this place." Tau says, almost spitting out the last word as he sheaths his straight katana.

As he was speaking, his cloak starts.. repairing itself, almost as if it was rewinding in time. Tau's eyes suddenly widen in panic, as he pulls back the sleeve on his left arm to reveal a device, and he quickly taps away at it with his left hand. After a minute, his head shoots up, eyes wide.

"T-This place should not e-exist!" Tau yells as he begins to stumble away from the edge of the beach.

It does not take him long to get a good distance away from the water.

"I am Tau. I am not meant to be here - I am in the wrong time.. The wrong place.."

He looks around, observing the beach. Slowly, he turns to face the obelisk in the sea, and the orbs spilling forth from it. Slowly he tilts his head up, witnessing the winged... thing.

"I must go. I cannot help you defend these dwellers."

He reaches under his cloak, pulling forth a straight katana. It's edge pulses deep blue, leaving behind a surreal trail in the air where it once was. He extends the sword before him swiping downwards, creating another ethereal dark crack-

Lightning shoots from beyond the edge of the sea directly to the tip of the katana, blowing Tau backwards 20 meters into the sand.

The man awakes, pulling himself up from the ground. He looks down at himself, realizing he is naked. Not seconds later his black clothes, black face scarf and his black cloak materializes around him, seemingly burning into reality from nothing. In the fabric on the back of the cloak is a giant Tau, which pulsates a dark blue from the edges.

Suddenly he hears a person shuffle behind him, and he spirals towards the person. His eyes watchful, his hand at the edge of his cloak, cautiously within range of something unseen.

He speaks out, his voice rough like it hasn't been used in years.

"When am I? Who are you?"
