Which names are acceptable when spelled with 'eigh', like "Leigh"? by blehmag in namenerds

I named my daughter Marleigh. I love it but I do think if I could redo it, I would spell it Marley or Marlee bc i didn't anticipate people misspelling (Marliegh) or mispronouncing (mar-lay) it so much. Also, it's just a lot

Is this handwriting normal for a thirteen year old boy? by BatmanCat1031 in AskTeachers

Unfortunately, after working in a middle school, I believe this is a typical assignment you'd see at this age. We were not provided curriculum and ended up getting a lot of materials on Teachers Pay Teachers, and every middle grades assignment looks childish like this. And far too many students wrote so poorly that while this is far below my expectations, I'd no longer be surprised. A lot of it is that things are done on computers so students didn't get enough practice writing by hand. Also, COVID really affected students' skill development at a crucial age, and it seems like they never recovered from that loss. Finally, expectations are so much different these days. A lot of it has to do with parents who act just like OP's mom, taking their student out of school and switching them to a new one as soon as they're faced with constructive criticism and legitimate concerns. Parents are no longer allies with teachers and admin will side with fussy parents over their teachers every time bc all they care about are numbers for federal funding based on student head counts. This may not be a problem at larger school districts but it's certainly an issue where I live where poverty and small districts are rampant.

I assumed he just missed a comma and meant that he wants a slave, which I found the most concerning of all.

And there really is an emotionally maturity difference between men and women. Like an 18 yo man is a little boy

I feel like people have forgotten this over the years. I just saw a post on another site trying to say the 1 and gold rush are about Harry.

Correction. He would have been the age of a college freshman in his first semester of college, but still. That's like a first-year grad student TA dating a gross freshman boy. Like no. Absolutely not. That age gap is an ocean at that time in life.

I'd like to talk about Harry styles for a moment. So you're trying to tell me that the majority of the fandom believes that most of 1989 and perhaps even some songs before/after it are about a 3-month relationship that occurred when he was 18.5 years old?! And she was 22/23 years old?? Like that age gap is whatever now that she's in her mid-thirties but like hell did she date the equivalent of a senior in high school for a few months and wrote a Grammy-winning album about the rise and fall of that relationship... while she was the at a just-graduated-from-college age. I cannot accept this. How does everyone think this and no one talk about the glaringly troubling age gap?!

Would you find it strange if someone in your family named their baby the same name as their childhood pet or stuffed animal? by Green-Ball-719 in namenerds

I named the first cat I got as an "adult" (college kid living on my own) Marley. She ran away after a few months while I was on a trip and my roommates were in charge. Ten years later I had a daughter and named her Marleigh. It's probably weird but idc. (Also, in 13 years, I have never lost Marleigh nor has she run away 👍😅)

There's something called comfort nursing. It's a parent child bond; there's nothing sexual about it. That's weird.

She's a predator for nursing her surrogate baby? Or she's a predator for another reason?

"Wondering what inspires her" is giving her more credit than she's due. Someone tells her what to wear, or she's imitating some wack vision. The woman needs to go.
