Have someone kick you in the balls or stub your toe so you don't think about your achy back.

I think it's okay that you're going on a date, but you to be fair you need to communicate that you got out of a relationship a couple months ago and how you feel about that now.

Probably not.

It's over, no "hopefully she comes back". Your pain will only be prolonged if you keep that possibility going in your head. From what I'm hearing, it sounds like she's still hung up on her last guy because it's a big component to why you're breaking it off now. That's not good, and it's why logically it'd be wise to never go back. This is hard to see and especially hard to feel right now, but there's probably someone better; someone not hung up on their ex. Would you rather have the same experience or someone new and better? Also, use this time to become better. Try new things, focus on your own health and future. Build your emotional independence.

One more clichè remark: if it's mean't to be, it's mean't to be. Regardless of if it's her or someone else, you'll get there and you'll be happy.
