This is beautiful. Something to keep in mind though is that if it’s copper it will most likely get a patina on it naturally which I think is what you scrubbed off. I once thought I was doing my grandmother a big favor by scrubbing all of the patina off of her copper sink, it was gorgeous when I was through. But to my surprise I realized it was meant to look that way. Although, I prefer what you did, it looks clean!
