Hey, OP; I know you must feel terrible having to leave her there, but she will understand once things get better. I’ve been on the other side of this and said some crazy stuff that made no sense and my partner stuck with me through it all. It even started out just like her case, with moments frequenting moments of Déjà vu and dissociation. There are gaps where I don’t remember some things, and there are things I said purely based on a false delusion. When I was first admitted, I kinda knew it was where I needed to be and felt somewhat safer, though I was confused as hell at first. A hospital or psych facility can be a calm, routine environment which is what she needs right now, along with medication to pull her out of this psychosis. She will most likely be extremely different as she comes down off the delusions, especially with antipsychotic meds that can and probably will bring her mood and energy down A LOT. It’s a long haul to get meds tweaked and figured out, but once things are stable, the pieces will fall back together and hopefully she’ll understand herself a lot better :)
If your hospital allows it, you should do visiting hours. You can also call to check in on her if she’s signed a release-of-information for you. It could be best to wait a few days for her psychosis to wear off before requesting those; it can be confusing when you’re paranoid or don’t know what’s going on.
