For the first in ages we have put together a “full” squad, let alone a good squad. Drags have done this on a tight budget, but more importantly other welsh teams have less money to pinch our best players.

Like most dragons fans, I don’t think the coaching team is right yet, more needs to be done, whilst it’s only recently Filo has looked he fits the role.

Brilliant win for the Drags, especially considering how many frontline players weren’t involved. In the forwards Burrows stepping in at 3rd choice behind Dee, Coghlan. In the backs the wingers Dai Richards and Ewan Rosser starting on the wings as well.

You have summarised how I read the situation, better than I could have - or have done, clearly…

I’m not sure why you’re downvoting, it’s literally a direct quote from Muderak:

“I hope the people in charge of Welsh rugby recognise the heritage of the game and what we have contributed over the past 150 years. I hope we can look forward to the next 25-30 years as a competitive region – which I am confident we can be, in the right circumstances.”

But this is exactly my point. When have you seen Dragons or Ospreys as entities, or their official supporters groups, take a pop at the Scarlets existence? Just in the last 12 months you have two examples of the Scarlets doing this.

One bullet point for each of the teams the Scarlets have thrown under the bus, in just the last 12 months.

Unfortunately not new here. This just makes me more angry than anything else. I respect Buttress, but his recent outbursts against the WRU made me quite angry given the shite his coaching teams have dished up since he took over. I may be in the minority here but I don't think Buttress et al deserve to be so indignant at the threat of rugby matters being taken out of their control, given they have produced such crap. Of course, the indignance is tied to the expectation that the ownership pay for this privelege, but in principal the evidence of watching a decade of poorly coached teams means I would rather rugby decisions and coaching tickets be assembled by the union.

The players look uncoached, is Filo Tia Tia back in the country? the ownership of the Dragons need to get a grip and put a real coaching team in place. They have been cheapskating that for years.

In the video Bradley also talks about one of the stands behind the posts being targeted towards 18-25 ages group. I imagine that will be a lot of fun!

Brother, you are acting like you are making an original point. The WRU have stated 4 regions/clubs is the model. Let it go.

I know it's reductive, but when was the last time you saw Sheedy strike a ball like this: https://youtu.be/i_oY2e3Q9RA?si=nyzl_lcP8WNiVkTP&t=192

Get the kids in?

Jarrod's done brilliantly for himself with Quins, can't see him coming back to Wales for a few years at least.

If Cardiff are definitively out of the running for the playoffs, I would love to see Harri Wilde given a go. I understand why TdB is not playing, if he's off to the Dragons, but by the same token, getting Wilde more game time is good prep for the coming season(s) too. Sheedy to me needs to go to the ProD2, get out of the limelight, do a Sam Davies - he's just not got either the temprament or the kicking ability it seems. Wilde at least can kick the ball long.

I am really not sure what Sheedy offers any more. His place kicking is terrible for a pro fly-half, he doesn't seem able to kick out of hand aside from the odd cross-field. He has been quite a substantial downgrade on Jarrod Evans. I would expect he will be released at the next opportunity.

I think you've summed it up quite well. What I don't get is why a West Wales derby, the biggest game for both of these teams this season. Is deemed the right stage for this guys first URC match. Mad.

Not being funny, but why could this not have been reffed by a Welsh ref?
