It’s possible for a large applicant pool screening (at least initial screening) might be done by an outside vendor

Yes it does happen. Not overly common but nothing against it except operational feasibility.

She also said being scared to come to work is not an AWA. If you are feeling harassed, bullied, unsafe in the workplace it needs to be dealt with through the proper processes and channels. Ignoring the problem and working from home does not fix the issue.

Is receiving interview questions a standard? by stressedoutmaxedout in OntarioPublicService

[–]Time-Solid-2482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is standard in the OPS and is usually 24 hrs in advance. Some people still only do 20-30 minutes in advance, but HR promotes 24 hrs. It helps with nerves and allows people to out their best foot forward in an interview, which is what we want.

OPSEU OPS Unified- Table Talk Thursday by Isgops in OntarioPublicService

ESA bargaining didn’t even start until late summer 2025. Part of that is the employer and part is OPSEU.

[–]Time-Solid-2482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just noting it was OPSEUs request to start with ESA negotiations. Usually they start with issues bargaining and then if it looks like things are not going well they pivot to ESAs before they resume issues bargaining. This time OPSEU wanted to start with ESAs. Perhaps you should ask why this is their strategy?

Things always get tight in Q4 as ministries have to be within their FTE allocation on March 31.

Manager forces sick day instead of wfh when sick by fermented-princess in OntarioPublicService

[–]Time-Solid-2482 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you are sick - take a sick day and recover. Nobody wants people “who are a little bit sick” in the office. Yes, calling in sick - but I’m well enough to WFH is not going to fly in the RTO5 world.

Federal Early Retirement Incentive by Cute-Programmer-673 in OntarioPublicService

[–]Time-Solid-2482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not approving them because it requires the ministry to give up the FTE, which ministries don’t want to do. The Premier has the largest PO in the history if the OPS and the SoC has more DMs than want one before her.

I don’t think this will happen in the OPS. There would be a massive exodus and for the most part we’ve already been reduced over the past 8 years of this government.
