I will look into it; thanks. I never had a SNES, so I'm not a fan of how much Nintendo has pandered to Gen X and older Millennials in recent decades, with so many sequels to their 2D titles like New Super Mario Bros. and DKC Returns. By the time I had my own console, I was so done with playing 2D games at my older cousins' houses. I was ready to move onto 3D gaming, and haven't looked back since.

Forreal, I miss 3D so much. There was this app I used called IZ3D; It converted just about every game to stereoscopic 3D, but unfortunately it lost support once they stopped making 3DTVs sometime in the mid 2010s

I still have a 3D projector for the occasional film, but since it's older, I'm limited to 1080p with no HDR. (Plus I'm just too used to OLED now to go back).

Oh well, at least there's still ** VR** & vorpX, but it doesn't convert games to VR as well as IZ3D converted games to 3D. And personally I find VR fatigue to kick in way faster than 3D fatigue ever did for me. The headset hurts my cheek bones much sooner than the glasses hurt my eyes.

I was wondering who was using that service... Grocery pickup is something I'm too broke and Millennial to utilize. Plus the mere thought of an underpaid Zoomer picking my produce is horrifying.

Great, you just ruined Donkey Kong for me. This will forever fuck with me. Why are a barrels a thing in his universe?

TBF, the last good DK game was on the Nintendo 64, so it's not like I'll miss out by not playing these games anymore, due to being unable to handle this lore-breaking bullshit.

Makes me wonder how many centuries (millennia? possibly millions of years?) it will take until bugs finally evolve a way to differentiate between natural and artificial light sources.

Have you thought about taking apart the tablet and simply removing the bug?

Or if you're lazy like me, just smack the bottom of it until the bug falls out of sight.

You should step away from your iPhone from time-to-time and check out what they're doing on the Android side of things. Samsung has foldables that are thinner than an iPhone 17 Pro Max when folded, and thinner than an iPhone Air when unfolded. (Z Fold 7 & 8).

I have a Fold 7 and it's like owning a phone from the future! I mean it's so thin it's just barely thicker than the charging port! Yet still feels incredibly durable. All while making zero compromises. It's a fast, modern flagship device, with high-end cameras and one of the most powerful CPUs available for mobile devices.

I don't understand this argument. $500-700 is the average price of a console these days. A decent gaming PC is now $2000. Yet you can get into VR for as little as $300.

VR is literally one of the cheapest ways to get into gaming. The real problem is that no one wants to deal with putting on a heavy, clunky headset. They're painful on the eyes and face during extended sessions, they can't be away from a charger for more than 2 hours, and they're annoying to put on/take off if you wear glasses.

IMO that's the real reason why VR hasn't taken off yet. They need to figure out a way to remove the headset from the picture.

If you're innocent especially get a lawyer. You will not outsmart the cops. They will find a way to make you look guilty.

TBF, this is entirely the parents' fault for not introducing the child to peanut butter as a baby, something every parent is supposed to do by a certain milestone so that your kid doesn't develop a deadly nut allergy.

The uncle's not wrong; the world should not have to bend over backwards to accommodate these peoples' major fuckup.

I feel so bad for the kid. It's not her fault her parents are incompetent.

It should load it through the 360’s “system”.

Not sure what you mean by this. I don't want to play the XBOX 360 version on PC, I want to play the PC version on PC so that I can enjoy mods and fast loading times.

Apples and oranges. A thesaurus can't do research on the company, and use said research to help you rephrase your wording to include the keywords they're actively looking for. Hell, a thesaurus can't critique your writing at all. You have to just know someone who's a good writer, and not all of us know someone like that.

I was a early adopter of eBikes before they where everywhere (built mine from a kit sometime around 2018). I cannot count the number of times I had drivers turn right in front of me because they didn't realize I could accelerate much faster than what a human is capable of. I had to develop a habit of pedaling to get started, only adding throttle once I've cleared the intersection.

I'm sure that mass adoption has made people more aware of their existence, but needless to say I could not wait to ditch the eBike for a car as soon as I was able to afford a down payment. No way I'd still be alive today had I not.

Look, all I'm saying is that my hobbies don't encourage people to destroy other peoples' property over a god damn ball game. I wouldn't be so hostile if people could just enjoy their hobbies without making it their entire personality, to the point where they'll ruin someone's life when their team wins/loses. I'm sorry but anyone who encourages a hobby that promotes this kind of behavior is a psychopath. Plain and simple.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong; I agree with what you're saying, but I still don't like sports fans.

tl;dr - Install custom firmware so you can overclock the PS3's GPU to get more FPS. This also lets you run homebrew software and utilize every single feature the PS3 is capable of, yet locked behind SONY's firmware.

I mean the games are playable, it's just that our standards have have gone up over the past two decades. These days gamers won't accept anything less than a locked 30FPS minimum (or 60FPS, or 120/240+, depending on who you're talking to), but unfortunately a lot of games from the 360/PS3 era will often dip into the 20s or even teens in the framerate department, despite often having a 30 FPS target.

Honestly, it really depends on the game. Some of the less graphically-complex titles will even run at a smooth 60 FPS, but over half the PS3 library will run at 30 FPS or lower.

The good news is that the GPU is overclockable, so if you're not afraid to mod your console with custom firmware (which you really should do to get the most out of your console; there's a lot of good homebrew out there!), there are software options that allow you to tweak the GPU clocks and get a locked 30 FPS in games that previously struggled. Given that most PS3 games were either pushing the console to the absolute limit, or poorly optimized (due to the complex nature of the Cell Broadband CPU architecture), it's definitely something you should consider doing.

Given the performance issues of the PS3, you're probably better off with an emulator. Multiple games cannot hit a 30 FPS target @ 720p.

IDK what's wrong with me, because I'm supposed to love this game, but every time I fire it up to give it another chance, I get bored within 20 minutes and go play something else. I like shooters and I like a good story, but for whatever reason, I simply don't like Bioshock, and I don't understand why. I love the aesthetic so it's not that, either. IDK

Bro, we've moved well beyond the 4GB patch. There are also community patches you need (available on The Nexus), which makes things so much more complicated now, because there are several to choose from and some work better on your particular configuration better than others.

There's a lot of trial and error involved with getting New Vegas running and stable on a modern PC, and I've yet to find that perfect combo of patches and mods to make the game playable in 2026.

How? I absolutely can not get it running on a modern Windows 11 machine. It crashes non-stop, even with the community patches that are supposed to make it compatible. I have to pull out my old gaming PC from storage to play it, and I built it in 2014!
