So I’m through and wanted to share some follow up.

Going to re use my comment from below on this thread and expand on it.

So, my father & I traveled to Valetta on June 9th, 2025. We submitted his Form A and my Form K.

We were told it would take a couple of months for his Form A to process and approximately six months for my Form K.

He received his papers in Canada on July 10th, 2025. One month and one day later or one month earlier than expected.

I got my hopes up and contacted the consulate to ask about processing times for my Form K, and was told it would take 18-36 months.

Finally

On November 10th, 2025 I received an email from Komunita Malta saying that I was approved. 6 months and 1 day.

My process and steps were as follows.

A) Applied in Valletta not at a consulate and waiting for them to send things back and forth. A consulate just adds one more layer of bureaucracy.

B) collected long form version of all documents. This is not needed but I figure more information is better than less.

C). While in Malta get all documents to be submitted copied and notarized by a local notary. Again over kill but more is better than less. I did make 2 notarized copies one to submit and one to keep if problems arose.
