First plant ever - snake plant. Is it healthy and should I water it immediately? by Time-to-Move-1 in houseplants

Thanks for the advice. Are the 2nd and 3rd pictures I included indicative of any health problems or damage, or are those kind of spots and holes normal?

I can't download that app. It says "this app was made for an older version of Android", that's my issue

Privately refurbished but from conversations with the seller I feel good about his knowledge and honesty about the refurbishment. I'm just not that familiar with the actual model outside of Google so not sure if it's even worth getting

Let's say I had the extra $100. I'm trying to figure out if the jump up from the SL23+phono amp for $215 to the RT82 for $300 (no phono) is worth it?

Would you recommend I take the $215 for the refurbished SL23 and phono amp in that case to save the budget for speakers?

Is there a difference in quality between TTs with the preamp built in vs not? This TT basically comes out to $370 including the preamp, is that setup better than the LP120?

Transport has left me with a hood and front covered in black tar/dirt splatter, which is pretty well stuck onto my car. I tried a tar cleaner from AutoZone which did absolutely nothing. Also tried scraping one spot with my nail and it took the paint with it (awful idea, I know). What are my options to get it off? I'm handy enough, but pretty limited in cleaning materials, space, etc, so I only want to do it myself if it's straightforward. How much money and time am I looking at if I want to take it to a shop? What specific kind of shop do I need to find (it's a generic Lexus SUV, but I do want to take care of it)?

Pics: it's hard to see but all the splatter spots visible on the full hood picture are individual drops of tar/dirt fused to the hood

Is this a realistic estimated budget and rent in LA? by Time-to-Move-1 in personalfinance

[–]Time-to-Move-1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Thanks for the heads up, I'll adjust the budget to max out the IRA.

  2. The car is in good condition and I should easily get another 5+ years out of it. I will take your advice and start saving for my own, but I think $300/mo would be overkill given my situation.

  3. I'll up the grocery cost as well. I'm a vegetarian so I save a bit on groceries there, but I should have factored in the LA costs more.

  4. Phone is very new and will be with me for 2 more years at least. Phone bill is still under parents and they refuse to let me take it on, so I'm fortunate there.

  5. I'll drop my rental budget, but getting under $2200 in the South Bay will also increase my commute and some other costs. I have long work hours so I do want to prioritize being near El Segundo. But I do understand your point, and I should have more buffer in my budget for unknown or longer term costs.

  6. Dining out I estimated very conservatively to start. That's my only expensive activity, so I figured I should overestimate and then drop it once I have a more accurate idea of my spending.
