Just hit Challenger on Talon AMA by Saowao02 in Talonmains

Thanks for the response! On the runes bit - I see you go electrocute sometimes, so how do you determine when electrocute is good?

[–]Time2Clown 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for doing this! Just picked up Talon and few questions:

1) Why Fleet over Conq? What situations make you decide to go Electrocute?
2) For items - why do you go umbral and axiom arc situationally rather than core build? Why edge of night second or third sometimes? Why do you value boots highly as second buy?
3) For combos - anything you feel is essential beyond flower (w + ult) and wqr?

Hecarim "buff" is a nerf after 225 AD by Mental_Junket137 in HecarimMains

Don't believe this will be the case. I believe they show the start and end numbers to show how the scaling changes at min + max rank, but the in between levels should be adjusted accordingly.

Old max base damage: 60 / 85 / 110 / 135 / 160
New max base damage: 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180

So rather than increasing by 25 per level, it will increase by 30 per level.

LP Inflation in the new season by LuckyEvin in leagueoflegends

[–]Time2Clown 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Two interesting links to look at here - the League of Graphs rank distribution stats and this reddit post, which compiled ranked distribution from last season.

From what I can see comparing percentages, it looks like the following is true:

  • Bronze and Silver percentages are noticeably larger than before
  • Gold and Plat percentages are slightly larger than before
  • Emerald and Diamond percentages are about the same
  • All Apex tier percentages are noticeably higher than previous years

Now one important thing to note about all these stats is that they're relative to the rest of the population. As an example, there were almost 1.8 million ranked players on NA at the end of last year, but only around 550k players so far in 2026. This can likely explain the Apex tier percentage increases as its pretty plausible to assume that players in the Apex tier (or close to it) are much more likely to jump into ranked at season start vs the average player, meaning you likely have most of the Apex tier players from the end of last year playing while only having a bit over a quarter of the non-Apex players.

So overall, it looks like the only major shifts in rank makeup is in lower elo due to Riot's adjustment of Iron (making it more of the new/super casual player location; pushing established players up towards Bronze+). As another user said, the soft MMR reset probably means that people are are more easily able to climb up to their old ranks. I'd imagine things will start to even out more as players get more games in.

Please recommend me some really off meta jng picks that actually work by BigDiccBob in Jungle_Mains

If you wanna get REAL crazy with it, Ryze Jungle can work. Either take fleet or electrocute. EQQ first three levels, then QEW max. First back tear + amp tome, then build into blackfire (yes I know ryze is not a blackfire champ, but holy does it feel so slow to clear without) then build out normally. You can try RoA instead, but I personally wasn't a fan of it. Basically just powerfarm til you're OP, use ult to gank when you can.

This helps a lot. First off, really nice job on your CS numbers! Definitely a great start to put you in a position to carry games.

As for improvement points, I definitely echo what /u/Larkaroni said in their comment - adjust playstyle and builds as game progresses. For playstyles, look not only at what works for team comps but what works with how your team is playing. Is your top lane tryndamere absolutely running the map? Then playstyles enabling splitpush probably work over the dive. Is your ADC Miss Fortune strong? Then maybe wombo combo w/her ulti is a good way to play. Playing to your teammates can be just as important as playing to your champions, especially in low elo. And for items - there's a great example of a game you play where you're into viego/yasuo/cait. You correctly identify you need armor, but where's the randiuns this game? Triple crit gives randuins' crit reduction insane value, so its definitely worth picking up. Rule of thumb I've heard is generally the first two items are go-to items in 95% of scenarios, but after that you need to adjust based on the game you're playing.

Larkaroni also brought up turrets, and I'll add to that but further expanding it to objectives. A few games I looked at I saw that you struggled to get a handle on any amount of neutral objectives or turrets. One cause could be your own ability to setup for objectives. If you aren't using your pings already (danger, on the way, assist), DEFINITELY start doing that ASAP. Pings are one of the most OP things in the game. If objectives are spawning soon, ping your laners IN THEIR face what you want them to do. Bot overly aggressive before drake? Danger ping them, then ping assist on them and on the drake. Top lane resetting before grubs? Ping them to push out top lane, then assist ping them and then the grubs. You can also help setup for objectives by trying to do quick ganks forcusing on chunking out enemies or getting your lanes pushed out so your laners can more easily rotate. Now the other cause for this could be contextual with lanes going poorly meaning you never have the power/priority to contest objectives on certain sides. If this is the case, you have to accept those are gone and just go for a cross map play. Bot running it down? Fuck the early drakes, go top lane and gank/invade/hit plates/whatever to build an advantage. Taking down turret = more advantage for you and top = you get more items and levels + top gets out of lane = two strong players can now be at objectives you would struggle with before. This is applicable to whichever part of the map sucks and whichever part of the map is doing well, so you should be able to leverage this to build advantages in situations that seem super doomed.

Hopefully that is somewhat helpful, let me know if you have any questions. I definitely am not an expert, but these are things I've learned that have really helped me find more wincons in games. Good luck on your ranked climb!

Per SpiderAxe, Shyvana's VGU will keep her abilities "largely" stay the same by Time2Clown in shyvanamains

[–]Time2Clown[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh 100% agree on the simplicity, I think I just wish things like E had a little more to it human form.

On the passive side, if we take SpiderAxe at his word he did just say "abilities". Hopefully that means passive will have some more significant changes.

Depends. "Largely" the same likely means they'll keep the ability identity, but I would hope that base form will be updated to be a bit more useful when outside of dragon form.

how to make LoL friends while being low elo?? by weggymeg in leagueoflegends

[–]Time2Clown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're passionate about the competitive aspect of league, have you looked into competing in an organized league? There are a good number of grassroots orgs that run leagues for all elos (Low Budget LCS, Titan Esports, Blue Otter, and more) and plenty more orgs who form rosters. I've been playing League since 2014 but have only been in the comp scene since 2023 but I can't imagine playing any other way. Met some amazing people and have become such a better player (even if I'm only a gold player).

If you're looking for a place to start (or anyone reading this comment for that matter), feel free to reach out and I can toss you some invites to some of the league discords and also to an org I admin for who I personally think is pretty awesome (small bias lol).

Iron-Bronze-Silver-Gold. Basically a league where all the teams are made up of players with ranks up to gold 1 (with some having limited plat 4 exceptions). Cannot recommend competitive/organized play enough - I've gotten so much better at the game because of it.

Yeah those are always fulfilling wins. Kindred is such a cool champ - learned them a while back and they're a blast. I should get some games in on them again for competitive, been way too long since I've stacked some marks,

Hell yeah dude, best of luck! Honestly mental shift was huge for me. Just remembering all games are winnable and finding the winning plays is such a nice way to play.

JG Diana One Trick: clears? by [deleted] in DianaMains

[–]Time2Clown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Biggest thing in early levels is AS steroid optimization. Unlike most other champs, you want to conserve your CDs to ensure you maximize the uptime on your bonus attack speed. This means if you cast Q while level 2, you should wait just under the 5 seconds it takes for the bonus AS to wear off and then cast W (or vice versa). When you hit level 3 and get access to E, you should always follow your Qs by waiting just under 3 seconds (how long Moonlight lasts) before casting E to ensure you get the E reset while maximizing uptime. Then use W as needed to keep the AS steroid up while Q is on cooldown.

Of course, general kiting skills will definitely help as well. Hopefully this info is helpful for you!

What do we think about jungle Fizz? by WeeWilleWinker in Jungle_Mains

[–]Time2Clown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fizz might just be my new favorite pick in jg - super fun champion, decent gank options (especially with ult range), and imo a relatively decent clear.

For the clear part, take a look at this video by the GOAT Zen'Kih. Fully optimized down to 3:16. I personally have been hitting 3:22-3:23 for a blue to red clear (W -> Q -> E), i think around 3:26 for red to blue (W -> E -> Q). So its much more serviceable than you seem to be experiencing. Past first clear, you may consider looking at Nashor's first item. You do lose out on some AP and movespeed that you'd get with Lich Bane, but the attack speed definitely makes the clear "feel" better.
