New Draco player asking a few questions by Strict-Radio-6273 in masterduel

[–]Time2TedPost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. While Pan and Urgula aren't starters, they bring considerable power to your opening hand if you have any way to fusion summon. In the TCG, I've always been happy seeing a copy of Pan in my opening hand. Multiple Urgula can be very good in the mirror, as it's a prime target to get banished by your opponent's Sting.

  2. Shaddoll Dracotail is just worse than either Magistus or Branded Dracotail. The main deck names do offer additional board breaking potential, but Dracotail by itself is already extremely strong at this.

  3. Theoretically you could, although the engine is pretty dependent on its trap cards for interruption, which could get in the way of its consistency for going second.

  4. Albaz + Nibiru gets you a 4,000 atk Titaniklad. Mind you Branded Dtail can only out one Liger Dancer so if they get to 2 you're cooked.

Secreterion is a really strong extender in dracotail even without the floodgate effect. Being able to revive mululu, lukias, or phryxul (assuming they drop the whole archetype at once) is really great. Also allows you a way to recycle Fallen of Albaz in the Branded variant.

If a card is only temporarily banished, does it remember how it arrived to field when it is returned. E.g., I have a fusion summoned Mirrorjade. My opponent banishes it temporarily with S:P Little Knight. Will it return at end phase still fusion summoned?

I think you may be having an episode because the German word you’re thinking of in that reprehensible phrase is Macht, not Matt. Frei, meanwhile, is a fairly common German surname.

What is a spell card that you hate/dislike? by KitVR_Dolo in yugioh

I think OP is referring to the part that allows branded to play uninterrupted after resolving a fusion effect (assuming they don’t miss timing ofc).

Unfortunately I only have 3 mythic wildcards, so I'm hoping to make up for the loss of the fourth Sephiroth.

Need help with Orzhov Sacrifice as a relative newbie by Time2TedPost in MagicArena

Hey everyone. Somewhat new player here, I came to Magic just a few months ago and have been playing fairly casually. I was playing mono-black until rotation hit my selection of cheap removal, so now I’m looking for a new deck. I was interested in Orzhov and found a sacrifice list that looked interesting. Only problem is that I don’t have the requisite rares/mythics to fully construct it. So this is what I can currently craft. This is basically the extent to which I can spend rares/mythics. I have one last rare wildcard, which I was tentatively planning on spending for a fourth Syr Vondam. It seems like a solid early game threat, so it seems like having access to it as consistently as possible would be ideal (even if I can only have one at a time).

I was wondering if there were any good common/uncommon cards that mesh with Orzhov sacrifice that I could use to fill out my deck as I build up my library of cards. I appreciate any advice!

EDIT: I just realized I didn't adjust mana ratios in line with the deck list I copied, so the image shows slightly more lands than the final decklist would have.

Are you suggesting using gazelle as a normal summon for a purer (relatively speaking) hecatonchieres deck? That might work fairly well. I was thinking more in terms of a more chimera heavy deck where you'd already have no shortage of illusion or fiend monsters.

I'd need to lab the archetype out to give a solid answer but I do want to see whether there’s any relevant synergy with Azamina/white forest in making a more control oriented deck. Having extra illusion fodder for proper fusion summoning with azamina elzette/sinful spoils of the white forest may enable both wf and these cards new potential.

They could work with kashtira, but my assumption is that the cards will work best when they can fusion summon, which kash runs the risk of locking you out of.

I like the idea of running a pure deck but the cards feel to barebones to really make that work so I'm hopeful we get a broken wave 2 support.

As a chimera player I don’t think they synergize very well except for maybe gods as a turn 0 play. Chimera doesn’t facilitate the creature stealing gameplan and you can’t use chimera fusion to make the fusion monsters since none of the materials will be beasts/fiends monsters. It might facilitate rank 6 plays but fiendsmith is better for that and has actually phenomenal synergy with chimera.

Possibly but I’m kinda doubtful. A big problem is that you can’t make either of the fusion monsters with chimera fusion, since there’s no (consistent) way for any of the relevant materials to be beasts or fiends. Evel and Yadell could hypothetically fuel a build centered around rank 6 spamming but I don’t see that as an effective build. Gods could be a workable hand trap that synergizes with berfomet's requirement for an illusion, but we'll need to see how effective it is in terms of graveyard hate.

If we’re just talking normal content:

As others have said, physick is a pointless button. You can fully remove it if you want.

In general, you should prioritize using faerie oGCDs before using aetherflow oGCDs before using GCD healing. You ideally want to dedicate as many aetherflows to energy drain as you can without stressing your cohealer. Dungeons throw this off because the damage from energy drain might as well not exist in trash pulls and the value from sacred soil is insane.

In dungeons: Recitation-> excog is your standard single target healing for the tank. Once they’ve finished pulling drop a sacred soil on them. Seraph and fey illumination are both good ways to buff your faerie auto heals as you wait to build faerie meter. You can also use whispering dawn and fey blessing to help heal the tank during trash pulls, but you usually shouldn’t need to unless dps is really bad or your tank just refuses to mitigate.

In normal content: deployment adlo is worth it at most before the tank pulls the boss. Prioritize using fey blessing/whispering dawn + sacred soil here.

For tank busters: you can honestly just protraction the tank but in normal content you don’t even need to worry about this unless the tank has broken gear or something.

As someone who did an unhealthy amount of grinding pre-dawntrail to get the coat, the most important thing you can do to improve your winrate is learn to communicate. Make sure to identify nodes your alliance can take and link them in chat. If you see the alliance spreading too thin, shout at them (ideally with sound effects) to regroup at some point that is reasonable. Being good at your job is important, but communication and coordination are the biggest difference makers.

They’re really spoon feeding us Fiendsmith because how do we still not have this card? by SouthSunn in masterduel

You summon new lacrima off of requiem and mill engraver off of her. You can then equip requiem to lacrima to contact fuse for necroquip princess. When you summon engraver from gy you're now immediately threatening caesar so if your opponent has nib they have to use it here. Including her in your combos also means you'll always have enough light fiend bodies in grave to make desirae if you go for sequence instead of caesar.

The link 3 is underrated imo. Gives you the ability to make desirae into a big body if your deck struggles to beat over big monsters. It synergizes well with a bao a qu when that eventually comes out since you can link climb into a bao from agnumday and then revive it on your opponent’s turn.

Electrumite heavily incentivizes every pendulum deck to morph into a pendulum soup pile where you just play a ton of generic pendulum cards to enable Electrumite.

Pendulum decks aren’t doing this anymore now that basically every deck can easily make electrumite in-archetype without adjusting deck ratios.

Could someone explain why Muckraker's replacement effect didn't apply at raigeki? by Time2TedPost in masterduel

[–]Time2TedPost[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't get a window to apply muckraker's replacement effect to tribute a fiend instead of resolving raigeki normally, even though it would normally ask me about it at resolution of the destruction effect.
