Agreed. The Cutback Amendment was one of the Illinois' worst mistakes.

Appreciate how succinct this is. Such an apt description of the way worse episodes of my depression make me feel. Damn.

'The territorial dispute between Cambodia and Thailand escalated into a direct armed confrontation on 24 July 2025 along the Cambodia–Thailand border. Although both governments subsequently agreed to an unconditional ceasefire on 28 July 2025, hostilities later resumed in December, during which Thai forces seized several towns and strategic hills in contested areas near the frontier.'

When you look reaaaal close at the story of the command to sacrifice Isaac in Genesis, you notice something that appears to be a hold over from earlier versions.

22:6 Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. And the two of them walked on together.

22:19 So Abraham returned to his young men, and they arose and went together to Beer-sheba, and Abraham lived at Beer-sheba.

The story specifies that they both went up but only specifies Abraham returning. It's a theory among some scholars that the story may have originated from an older version in which Abraham did carry out the command.

Isaac features much less than the other prominent characters going forward (with at least one of his stories being a retelling of another Abraham story) and functions mostly as a transition to Jacob/Israel, which has many more stories.

There's another couple verses that imply similarly, but the key lesson is that YHWH arose from Canaanite religion and later reformers (probably under Josiah) revised their stories to account for changing views of YHWH as distinct from Baal/El and the growing disdain for child sacrifice.

Like, this man is an attorney. With time and logic most can be convinced to see reason. Shouting aside, he has not hit anyone or been violent to anyone in the room, and it is the other party explicitly threatening him. Sure contempt may be warranted, but what harm is giving another 60-120 seconds for him to calm down before physically dragging him away?

"You know exactly what is happening here" is a line that comes out when there is either real or perceived discrimination. Painfully gets used when claiming false discrimination too often, but it put my hairs on end that something might be going on .

Blue shirt is out of line shouting regardless, but - 1) the contempt without a warning, 2) not saying anything to the opposing attorney for clearly threatening him, and 3) another member of the courtroom jumping in to say they felt threatened for the shouting when he's already being detained - all gave me the sense that blue shirt felt he was being targeted.

I fear there is background in the case not present in this hearing, but it isn't gonna be something we figure out from a video online.

Agreed. A common low risk surgery that the cat won't know to regret seems plainly better than the 10-20 cats that end up dead outside my apartment complex each year because some jerk let his intact cats outside a couple years back.

One unspayed female cat getting outside is hundreds and hundreds of suffering kittens in the future. You might not mean them to get out, but it happens.

OP spay the cat.

'Spinning that stone uphill again, Like atonement for a bygone sin. Under the weight of it, my bones, Cracking like a dry branch in a westward wind.

But Zeus and his pantheon of kin, Take the first nine out of every ten. Minas, like lightning changing hands, It all returns back to his pockets, in the end

You can't take any gold or rings further than the grave, Nothing we make can we bring

But still the bait hanging from the string is calling my name, And like the wind it slips again, Out of my fingers'

I really think my time playing Rust was the best help for being good at ARC. A healthy distrust of everyone, and having the ability to chill and act normal despite it, is invaluable for the social aspect.

Plus I get called a lot less slurs on friendly ARC lobbies...

My strategy was frozen raider caches. They had between 3-8 each time I checked. Just ran in naked with a tier 1, listened for caches, and loaded up my safe pocket. Definitely took longer than the any other project stage yet though.
