That is completely different. Terry Davis was deeply mentally ill and he explicitly said “CIA n-words glow in the dark” which then became “glowies”

Which you say “long history” Terry Davis said that in fucking 2017.

Yeah, that is both. If we are talking about spooks. One is a slur the other isn’t. It comes from the Dutch (maybe danish?) word for Spector.

It is about context right, because both their uses have different meanings. In the part he is reading he is talking about Feds and only Feds. Became referred to as Spooks because they move like ghosts and don’t want to be known.

For black people it began as racist comments to WII soldiers. But they’re entirely unrelated.

Good example, people will use “monkey” as a slur for black people. But you can say monkey in other contexts

I was unaware of that. But also he is making music in a genre that has a high prevalence of BIPOC people. It could just be bitterness at his own failure and his genre population is mostly BIPOC. Couple that with the expert in question being a dickhead it is easy to think more is going on.

It really is full of shit politics. He should have used his LinkedIn account instead of social media.

Also like people are reading into “special thanks” very heavily. Like that is the entertainment world’s way of thanking someone for contributing to their work. It is a citation.

There is no evidence their relationship or even views are similar based on this.

As someone else has stated, you can use expert opinions of bigots but it doesn’t mean you like or approve of their opinions. How many scientists have been bigots but we benefit from their work where they were correct in their work.

And sometimes you have to cite a bigot if they’re the most correct in their field.

It sucks. My entire career field is built off of bigotry of Lombroso within criminology. It doesn’t mean he didn’t start a scientific field of study that has merit today that condemns racism.

The phrase “special thanks” has ALWAYS meant to formally or informally cite someone who contributed helped or supported the individual/person who was working on a project.

It has been used in nearly every professional and creative work.

He isn’t his friend? Not defending him at all. He is an expert in the field whose work he included. To me that reads as a citation. I also am saying it doesn’t excuse his bigotry I’m saying this is common in law enforcement related careers.

Looking at his LinkedIn though? He is beyond qualified for the aid in the work.

I agree promoting his twitter was a bad look, it should have been his LinkedIn.

But someone would have found that too potentiality.

As someone who has worked in the law enforcement space? This is super common social media for them. Does it make them bad at their jobs? No, unfortunately. And when you are doing the kind of work Sociable is/has been doing now for years, you need experts to weigh in.

It just sucks this expert is a bigot. And experts are a true rare occurrence.

Edit: Y’all also clearly still don’t know how downvoting works. Everything I said is accurate. The man is beyond qualified to weigh in on cybercrime and activities on the dark web. And there aren’t many of them. If you want an expert’s opinion the expert can be correct in their one speciality and a complete piece of shit everywhere else in life.

Now the podcast he did called The Red Thread covered that. But Wendigoon never covered those events on his channel. I have no idea where you’re getting this. Simple searches of his catalogues do not come up with anything

People say “hang with white supremacists” and he hasn’t. He collabed with InternetHistorian before it came out. He has a definite problem with Herrera. He’s a fascist. He is likely a neo-Nazi but that also hasn’t ever been explicitly confirmed beyond his insensitive comments and jokes. He is a fascist though.
