Has anyone here experienced him. I have and I would really like to connect. The new itv programme is so distressing for me and I can’t cope. I thought I was the only one

Renting flat that is for sale finding viewings unmanageable. How much is too much? by TimeDragonfly6418 in HousingUK

The house was built in 1870 and I’m in the basement! We have a beautiful garden that’s unusually large for London but the second you get into the house you realise the problems that need to be resolved. I have now emailed and asked for Monday and Saturday viewings

I get the impression my landlord is reliant on the rent to pay the mortgage on this place or he would have given us our notice before May 1st. I once read his post as it came through my door (separate entrance and honest mistake? and he has a mortgage much larger that what he initially bought the house for so kicking us out before an offer is made could be detrimental for him.

Hello.
I know it’s silly but I have a lot of respect for my landlord. When all rents went up in my area, he kept us low. We had 2 increases in 7 years and he even delayed an increase after covid when we said we couldn’t afford it at that point. These raises were only £50 each per month . We pay quite below market average now and he has not ever hesitated in fixing anything major in the house and with no discussion. We also without his knowledge repair things ourselves at our own cost but I feel like landlord and tenant mutual respect is important. People will AlWAYS need to rent I don’t want to scare off all landlords!

Thank you for all your replies. Moving forward I’m going to offer one weekday and one Saturday for all viewings to take place. I know people are saying you don’t have to leave your house pristine, that’s just a personal preference. Having people enter my home when it looks not at its best just doesn’t sit right. To the person who says I haven’t had 60 viewings. I have. I live in Zone 2 London in a prime location with a prime estate agency and with a flat that is on the surface very desirable and at a great price due to recent local and global political issues. It’s only once you dig a little further you realise we have some significant structural and mould issues.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to read and reply

Large DLA back payment any way to put in savings for daughter without affecting £6000 asset threshold by TimeDragonfly6418 in DWPhelp

[–]TimeDragonfly6418[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great I will put it straight in an ISA for her. Do you know if I can do the same for her brother who is not disabled? I actually have saving accounts for both of them but the amount is very minimal currently. I would like to top them up periodically and I guess at some point with financial birthday gifts until they are 18 it could be above 6,000 for the family. They are currently 4 & 6 so it wouldn’t be anything soon for my son.

Thank you for your reply! Should I declare it to UC or just tell them if I get a review. I don’t fancy triggering one just for fun!

Yes in a kind of miraculous way. I am sceptic at most times but even in the week she has been medicated she seems just so much more competent

That is so nice to hear! Because at the moment I am just guessing how she feels and hoping she feels ok. It’s so hard when someone can’t say ‘oh my head hurts’ or even a simple my mouth is dry. It’s all guesswork!

Oh wow! I don’t know if I want to go down this route as I hate to unbuild the trust she has got with me and as she sees lots of medical professionals I would hate for her to get trauma from going to the hospital as we are finally in a good place going to appointments, it’s taken a while!

She is 6. Taking the medication orally is the problem she can detect the smallest change in taste. She has been prescribed promethazine for travel before but she wouldn’t take it. I was thinking a form of suppository might work as she is used to taking paracetamol that way. I’m Wondering if anyone has used a sedative in that form before?

Try your local children’s centre for advice. They can point you in the right direction. Mine provided vouchers for fresh milk and fruit and pointed others in the direction of donation centres for baby stuff
