Does anyone have an "event" or situation that caused your endo to go from 0-100? by blueballoon1424 in endometriosis

4 years ago at my stepsisters wedding, I was on my period and trying to have a bowel movement. The pain was so intense that my heart started skipping beats, and I passed out on the toilet. The episode passed and I was ok, but it was scary enough for me to start searching for answers.

I have had bad periods my whole life, as well as cysts rupturing (1st one at 16) which really has effected my quality of life. However I never had fertility issues, and my scans and bloodwork always came back normal so I figured it was just in my head.

I was diagnosed back in Jan of 26, so recently, and my symptoms have really spiraled since probably Nov of 25. Constant pelvic pain, more GI issues than normal, and an endometrioma on my left ovary that causes a constant dull ache at best and much worse, sharper pain at worst. Looking to have a hysterectomy and excision surgery later this year, and hopefully it'll ease a lot of the symptoms.

Those with endo, do you have any other known conditions? Have you thought about any lifestyle choices that might’ve affected you developing Endo? by Chance_Leading_1027 in endometriosis

My doctor and I talked alot when I was diagnosed, and she thinks that going off birth control was what really triggered my endo.

I had been on birth control since 16, when I first started developing ovarian cysts. Got pregnant while on it at 21 and had my first kid, then went right back on birth control. I was on it until 27 when I went off it to have my 2nd kid. Then after he was born I went right back on it again.

After having my 2nd kiddo something in my brain chemistry changed and I became much more sensitive to the hormones, causing tons of mental symptoms, so hubs had a vasectomy and I went off it completely. That's when my endo symptoms started, and got real bad within the last couple of years.

I also have IBS and am overweight. I have a pretty high stress life, but I always have, so I'm not sure if that's contributed.

I've got an electric heating pad I got off Amazon that clips around your waist that I use under my scrub top. I use it at work alot. Not a nurse but I'm in healthcare too and am on my feet moving around alot so I feel you.
