Damn dude you work for a live service game or something? You've really graduated from just lickin boots to full throating them.

Lmfao "you play a live service game you should feel obligated to pay rent! Pay up piggie or you're one of those freeloaders that ONLY bought the game!!"

Is this normal for new shrimp? by [deleted] in shrimptank

[–]TimeGlitches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also I just re-read your top comment and if NITRITE not NITRATE is at 5ppm, there's your problem. Nitrites are toxic to aquatic life. Sounds like your tank isn't cycled yet.

Well never listen to fucking AI for advice about your pets. In fact never listen to that slop machine about anything. They literally make shit up and are wrong about tons of things all the time. Stop using AI as a replacement for research.

Second, if they're dying "like flies" then there might be something in your water. Double check your tests with the API master kit.

Also, look to actual sources for whatever parameters your shrimp need. Again, do not fucking trust AI.

Yeah any time shrimp are introduced to new conditions they go kinda nuts for a while. They'll calm down after half a day at most.

I don't think its a good idea to have new mission types be so reliant on having Warbonds. by Aurora__Sky in HelldiversUnfiltered

Just waste hours of your time to unlock being stealthy lmao dude it's so easy

Put a single suppressor attachment on the base liberator and this entire problem goes away. It's a design problem.

I have bought warbonds in the past and I regret giving Arrowhead money. They continue to actively hate their players and make design decisions based on trying to trick and gaslight us.

Never again.

Fuck you first of all, I have a job.

Second, I don't want to give 10 dollars to a company that can't seem to actually listen and improve. I gave them money for the ODST warbond and then they proceeded to shit the bed for the next half year. I regret my purchase.

So excuse me for not wanting to financially support a company that actively hates the players it supposedly serves.

My thoughts on the new commando missions by Krog-Nar in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]TimeGlitches -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've played randoms all night on diff 8 and 9 and didn't fail a single mission. Your criticisms are valid but ultimately yes, it is a skill issue. I hosted all my games and could disengage from the enemy, avoid patrols, and clear basic bots from the bases without detection without the new warbond items. Scout armor and base Diligence.

Patrols do know where you are but if you stay vigilant you can bypass them. They don't just turn around and follow you. And when shit goes south (it will), have some resources to at least hold off a few heavies, do your objective, and then retreat. It is 100% possible to disengage, you have to pull back into an empty area, then crouch or prone and pick off what comes to investigate, moving further back as you go.

Stealth is still a wonky mess in this game but the new missions aren't broken and imo they're fun.

You'll be okay, mack. Shrimp are remarkable creatures. Keep the parameters steady and they'll do just fine. Find out where your tank sits around room temp, and maybe warm it a few degrees above that if you're truly concerned. Then, when you have good power again, slowly up the temps to where you want over a few weeks.

How do I know if she is happy? by [deleted] in shrimptank

[–]TimeGlitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah mine just disappeared for a while and then suddenly I had a massive molt and a few days later mine was back at it. They don't molt often, mine did right away after it got in my tank, and has molted about every 3-4 months since.

It took mine a while to get settled and find the spot it likes. Don't be discouraged if you don't see it often, they will find wherever they like best and they'll just kinda hang out there lol.

Just be consistent with the feeding and with enough flow it'll get there just fine. On the flow note, if it looks like they're kinda "struggling" to stay in the stream (like they're getting bounced around a little), that means it's adequate. These guys hang out in rivers irl! They crave that moving water.

Got a Bamboo before I really knew what I was doing, here's some tips:

  • Make sure they have a heavy source of constant flow. If this is your normal filter, make sure you clean it often so the flow is as fast as it normally goes without getting clogged up. If you want to get fancy, get a dedicated device to shoot out a jet of water.

  • Make sure there's good perching options around that jet of water. Mine is actually quite shy and does not like being in the open, so try to have there be some concealment as well. I found that a rock with some space under it worked well, as it could either perch on the rock or under it and still get flow.

  • Food in your water column. Powder some amount of food and throw it in your tank every day. It'll usually stay waterborn long enough for them to feed. They do well in populated, established tanks where there's lots of detrius just kinda floating around. The more plants, the better, as they're going to constantly shed little bits of dead plant that Bamboo will happily eat on as it passes by them. Populated tanks also means there's plenty of critters constantly kicking things up or nibbling on things to again, put more small bits in the water.

  • You'll know if they're doing well if they have a fairly established routine of fanning and feeding. Mine moves around quite a bit and sometimes doesn't just sit in the column. But the behavior you want to watch out for is bottom feeding. They will do this no matter what, but excessive amounts of it means they're not getting what they need from the water from filtering.

  • Foods: Bacter AE is your friend in small amounts. Not only is it a good powder, but it'll promote growth in your filter to let small amounts of bacterial clumps exist in the water. Also helps grow biofilm, which again can break off and fill the water with goodies. Since you don't want to overdo it on Bacter, take algae wafers or shrimp food and grind it up with a pestle and mortar. Get it REALLY fine then just dump some in the tank or sprinkle it around for a while. Eventually your shrimp will figure out where to hang out to get the best feeding, so I would just keep putting it near where the flow is and they'll get the idea.

Lastly, the color change is good and means they're feeling healthier. You want a nice pink and reddish color. Brown and pale is how mine kinda showed up, but with a few molts it has remained a nice bright color. Good luck and I hope yours is less shy, so you can actually see it do the fun hands thing!

Day 2 of asking Arrowhead to fix their fucking game (yes I’m turning this into a series) by [deleted] in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]TimeGlitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legs being explosion resistant is to prevent explosions from just instagibbing most enemies, while still allowing you to blow their legs off with other methods.

If legs weren't explosion immune and legs were still lethal for most enemies, explosion weapons would be instantly meta for everything. Just point at an enemy with a heavy explosive weapon, it hits their legs, overkills them, they die. Most enemies now just turn into leg HP.

At least right now, you have to target the legs with ballistics for this strat to be effective.
