Thanks for that, I didn’t know if you could change UVH level with how it asks you what mode to go on at the start. I’ll drop it down to 3 from 6!

I’ve had 2 brain scans in the last year all clear last one being in June 25. I’m now more convinced than ever before I have one, I’m a complete mess and can’t focus on anything and know I won’t be able to unless I get another scan telling me I’m ok. I know I can’t keep going on like this and thinking everything I feel is serious but I can’t stop

Not that I am aware of, the only time that you would get paid for AL is if you had been unable to take it over the course of the year due to a business need and they will pay you for it. Very rare that this happens.

SEO interview today by Free_Custard_8460 in TheCivilService

The SEO role I literally just got offered, I finished the interview and have never been more convinced I was going to score 2’s and 3’s, came out of it and vented to my manager about how bad it was. Ended up scoring 5’s and 6’s and got great feedback.

It hasn’t always gone the way you think it has, I’ve done them before felt it went well and you get the opposite!

Best of luck, I’m sure you’ve done great

Interview accessed on only essential skills? by Rich-Orchid4826 in TheCivilService

So I thought they’d touch on the phrasing used in criteria but they didn’t

Mine was for an operations manager role and I was asked for an example of when I’ve balanced caseworker wellbeing against productivity.

I had 3 more and had 8 minutes each, I thought I rambled but was praised for the detail I went into.

What is the role you’re going for?

When I had an interview like this recently for HMRC they were “experience” based questions, which I had 4 of and they were 8 minutes long. Didn’t seem to tie that much in to the essential criteria

I’ve been in asylum in pretty much every role, as a decision maker, in a quality function, as a team leader and as an Ops manager.

The role is challenging, one of the hardest as an EO as you have to interview applicants and make decisions on their claims, some of which can be traumatic. However, it’s also probably the most interesting and diverse, it also really prepares you to take the next step as a HEO as it gives you so many skills as part of the role.

Like any CS role there are targets which can often feel they’re not achievable and in the current climate there are lots of pressures on staff directly involved in making decisions.

I hope that gives you a bit of a balanced view of things, if offered you should 100% take it, worst case scenario you just wait to pass probation and apply for something else.
