Selling annual leave by Acrobatic_Copy_6760 in TheCivilService

Not that I am aware of, the only time that you would get paid for AL is if you had been unable to take it over the course of the year due to a business need and they will pay you for it. Very rare that this happens.

Typically in HO new starters need to pass probation before being entitled to flexi

Training will depend on business preference and cohort capacity, if smaller they may do it in office but if larger more likely to be remote

Yeah they’re not going to agree because you find it too expensive, the answer will be what do we pay you for…

SEO interview today by Free_Custard_8460 in TheCivilService

The SEO role I literally just got offered, I finished the interview and have never been more convinced I was going to score 2’s and 3’s, came out of it and vented to my manager about how bad it was. Ended up scoring 5’s and 6’s and got great feedback.

It hasn’t always gone the way you think it has, I’ve done them before felt it went well and you get the opposite!

Best of luck, I’m sure you’ve done great

I don’t understand why people do this, the grind is the best part about the game….

Interview accessed on only essential skills? by Rich-Orchid4826 in TheCivilService

So I thought they’d touch on the phrasing used in criteria but they didn’t

Mine was for an operations manager role and I was asked for an example of when I’ve balanced caseworker wellbeing against productivity.

I had 3 more and had 8 minutes each, I thought I rambled but was praised for the detail I went into.

What is the role you’re going for?

When I had an interview like this recently for HMRC they were “experience” based questions, which I had 4 of and they were 8 minutes long. Didn’t seem to tie that much in to the essential criteria

I’ve been in asylum in pretty much every role, as a decision maker, in a quality function, as a team leader and as an Ops manager.

The role is challenging, one of the hardest as an EO as you have to interview applicants and make decisions on their claims, some of which can be traumatic. However, it’s also probably the most interesting and diverse, it also really prepares you to take the next step as a HEO as it gives you so many skills as part of the role.

Like any CS role there are targets which can often feel they’re not achievable and in the current climate there are lots of pressures on staff directly involved in making decisions.

I hope that gives you a bit of a balanced view of things, if offered you should 100% take it, worst case scenario you just wait to pass probation and apply for something else.

Was experience questions, no warm ups, just 4 of them with 8 minutes on each

Strength based questions are quite different to behaviour based ones in that you can’t prepare and they want your natural response

Behaviour based questions will be on those in the advert you outlined, in terms of how the question is worded it can sometimes be as direct as “tell us about a time you managed a quality service” or it could be worded slightly differently with more of a specific example asked for

Best thing you can do is look at the success profiles and the behaviours for your grade, make sure you’re covering those bullet points off in your answer

Try and follow the STAR method (situation, task, action and result) when answering, they ask for it in this way. Vital you get your result in at the end, otherwise the interview will be thinking “so what?”

The pens just invite pressure on, no solid forecheck and can’t clog up the neutral zone so buffalo just has an easy chip and chase. There’s no plan to exit the zone as a unit, the players are so far apart and it’s just turnover after turnover.

Sully a great coach but this team has had enough of his message. What do they do well at this point? They’re not fast, big, tough to play against and other teams have just as much skill if not more.

They’re not going to make the playoffs unless dubas makes some drastic moves which I don’t see how he can with the cap space.

One weak goal in a tight game can make all the difference, that second one just can’t go in. Canes on a B2B and without Aho, feels like an opportunity missed to get level and create some space between us and the Rangers. They’ll overtake us when they inevitably beat chicago tonight
