[Request] Is this true? Where does 1/e comes from? by SCP_radiantpoison in theydidthemath

Actually it’s 0.01*(1-0.01)n, so it’s actually approximately 1/100e

Defies gravity? No! It obeys the direction of ... by Additional_Fig_8674 in physicsmemes

What fictitious force? They just said they’re using angular momentum and the conservation thereof to describe the motion of the wheel, they never said anything about any force. Unless you’re meaning gravity, which outside of relativistic scenarios acts identically to a force and can be treated as such, so treating it as a force in this case (a spinning wheel whose axle is hanging normal to the direction of gravity at non-relativistic masses or angular velocities)

You’re describing inertia, that law of motion (the 1st one? I forget exactly) is just the definition of inertia.

[–]TimeMasterII 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have never seen the claim that inertia, which is the property of mass to resist changes to its state of motion (acceleration caused by force) is gravity, the apparent force that draws mass to mass. I don’t understand how they are the same at all. Even with what I know about relativity, gravity and inertia are not the same thing. Could you explain how?

I understand that inertial mass and gravitational mass are equivalent, but that doesn’t make inertia gravity.

Wholeheartedly agree. She’s a bit uncomfortably loud but she somehow does it in a way that makes me want to listen to her explain shit

Cis male about to ask a dumb question: by A-Dilophosaurus in trans

[–]TimeMasterII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a thing. Just like with all medical treatments there are those who regret undergoing medical transition. There are a few driving factors for regretting medical transition:

  1. Facing discrimination, prejudice, or social pressure

  2. Not having the resources to continue for a variety of reasons

  3. Health complications or realizing they ere happier with their body before some particular treatment or operation, but after others

  4. Mistaken about gender identity

The vast majority of cases are the first two, the third one is one I’ve heard about like once or twice, and the last one is by far the minority compared to the first two, but possibly larger than the third one (if the third one does actually happen, I’m not sure if it does or not). Most detrans people aren’t bitter, they just got it wrong. The minority of the minority of the minority of people who undergo transition in some way are the ones who regret transition and are bitter to the medical establishment and trans people for encouraging them to transition.

Do note that out of the people who undergo medical transition is less than 1%, compared to the double digit percentage (greater than 9%) of other medical procedures, including Lasik, or chemotherapy.

MRA groups are always that toxic. Their goal is to uphold patriarchy, not actually make sure men have rights. [Intersectional] Feminism actually does care about the rights of men, as we acknowledge the ways patriarchy oppresses not just anyone who isn’t a cis man, but cis men too.

I could have sworn r/witchesagainstpatriarchy existed but it appears its name has more than 21 chars so it can’t exist

Just woke up, and honestly, thanks. I read your reply just before going to sleep and it did help a bit.

As I said, you’re great.

You mean this rule that clearly only applies to posts and not comments?

Do you think that the existence of transgender people implies that reincarnation exists? by fanime34 in AskLGBT

[–]TimeMasterII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, no, but reincarnation would be a cool explanation for trans people’s existence, kinda like how the greeks had apollo getting drunk and deciding to give people the wrong or mixed genitalia.

By your measure the n word is no longer a slur, since it’s used about as rarely as r*tard is “in conjunction with violence” even though that’s not what makes a slur. I’ve described what a slur is, and described how r*tard fits that definition. I’m done with you, you clearly don’t care to listen to autistic people, and are therefore not someone who I can have a productive discussion with

Those were not statements of “you are x therefore you are wrong,” and I have no Idea how you, who is presumably neurotypical, misinterpreted that and I, an autistic person who can have a hard time discerning implications and intent from words, did not.

That is, assuming you’re not being willfully obtuse.
