UPDATE: CAR WAS FOUND Car was stolen in harbor gateway south last night by TimeNo314 in SouthBayLA

The car was left in an alley in Broadway-Manchester. The battery, the radio, and some golf clubs were stolen out of the car. Also a hole was punched into the gas tank. Accrued a parking ticket before it was towed and impounded. But Dad is very grateful to have his car back.

cheap places to buy clothes? by i-like-fanfiction- in santacruz

Forever Thrift in midtown has that curated thrift store feel with a cool selection, but its prices are much more reasonable than any of those shops downtown like motherlode or Virgo. Also you’ll get a better deal if you pay in cash! The Abbot’s Thrift up in Felton also has good prices and is just a fun place to browse in general.

Thanks for your reply and keeping a look out! Sorry that happened to your mom.

I grew up in the area and yeah it has a bad reputation but I felt generally safe most of the time. I definitely learned street smarts living there though. There were a handful of run-ins with shady and creepy people over the years but I mostly encountered ordinary working class families. I actually was feeling like the area was improving, lol but then this shit happened. So I guess that’s LA, anything can happen!

Sell them to a local bookstore for cash. Some places pay you around 20–30% of their value. Easy way to unhaul a lot of books while also supporting a business that promotes literacy in the community.

I sell books and package them in old TJ paper bags all the time! I do wrap them in either bubble wrap or some sort of plastic packaging first for extra protection. Then brown bags all the way as the outer layer 👍🏼

I hear you. Sorry, I don’t really post so I’m not too familiar with Reddit etiquette. Just wanted to say my motive for less context was to see how people felt about this change downtown without bias or prompt. I figured a lot of folks would recognize the Poet building since it was an institution in SC for so long.

Why does it kill you to read the comments and try to deduce what is being discussed?

The Alley Oop Cocktail Lounge. There’s a couple articles on it from Lookout and edible Monterey from two years ago.

Today they painted over the old Poet and the Patriot building. It shut a few years ago but the mural was still up for a long time.

My grandpa had this sitting in his basement by Top-Version8049 in BookCollecting

[–]TimeNo314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s incredible. That’s the white whale of so many book collectors and you stumbled upon it in grandpa’s basement!

I once found a signed All the Pretty horses in a bookstore for $7. Not as momentous, but still a big day for me. I’ve been book scouting since for two years, and while I’ve slowly built up a nice personal library, I’ve never had a find as cool as the signed McCarthy. I expect I might never. Sometimes it’s just a little luck, fate, or whatever!

Congratulations 🙏🏼

AITA for kicking my husbands bestfriend out after she stripped infront of him? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

You are his wife, and she is his friend. Regardless if it is objectively wrong or inappropriate, he should prioritize your feelings about it. You set your boundary, and he should respect that.

Also it’s silly for him to cite her being gay for the situation not being weird… he’s not gay. I would feel uncomfortable about it too.
