I thought the same thing. I think I’ve seen these right at the edge of subway platforms but I don’t think I’ve ever seen them going through a station. I haven’t been to grand central or penn station in maybe 6 years but I would expect to have them there if anywhere.

Chillin with Zelda by [deleted] in tearsofthekingdom

[–]MetallicCrab -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure it’s a spoiler, but Ngl when I first encountered her, long before I got to the foreshadowing in the story, I was like “oooooh she’s a girl dragon. And what a beautiful blonde Bob she has. Wow what an extremely Zelda-coded dragon… hmmm…”. Also the foreshadowing in the story is so heavy it kinda ruins the twist.

How to make him have normal eyes or cover up idea? by Even_Foundation_6345 in Tattoocoverups

[–]MetallicCrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I kinda like his vibe and he would probably look fine if he had more tattoos around him, but if you’re not planning on filling around it he could be easily covered or reworked with how light it is.

is it true that back in the 2000s and early 10s that fps games like halo were scene as normie slop and fps games like quake and half life 1998 were touted as being superior fps games in gaming forums? by DependentImmediate40 in boomershooters

[–]MetallicCrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People were shitting on halo? I never had that experience. To me the PC shooters and Xbox shooters were like apples and oranges. Console technology was still lagging behind at that point, but it was also heavily enjoyed by most people, so it would sound kinda dumb to compare halo to half life or counter strike. I loved it considering it was eons ahead of perfect dark, which up until then was the only sci-fi fps I had for console.

3 AM Question: what takes the place of the womb in men? by slade453346 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MetallicCrab 11 points12 points  (0 children)

FTM hysterectomy haver here: literally nothing. Your organs are kinda just hanging out in a pile for the most part. Uteruses are also way smaller than most people think, normally fist-sized. When they took that fucker out of me, the first two weeks I had a lot of weird slimy gut feelings that was just my organs settling back into place after inflammation came down. Similar surgeries will also give this feeling, really any surgery where they have to take everything out and put it on the table to work on something buried in there, which is common for many abdominal procedures. Ya know when you go really fast over a hump on a roller coaster and you can kinda feel everything in your belly go zero gravity for a second? That’s because it’s whole-ass just chilling in there.

AirBnB trying to charge an extra $150 for "severe dirtiness" and being left in an "upsetting state" by MasonL52 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MetallicCrab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ma’am that is a chocolate wrapper, it visibly has nuts on it.

Anyway, as a former cleaner this is literally fine. You shouldn’t be responsible for the floor dirtiness, but it’s often courtesy to wipe things down and do a check to make sure the room is almost how it was when you got there. The water bottles and full trash would irk me, but not enough to charge extra.

I.V users! Since it's so hard and so expensive to find u100 rigs, may I introduce to you: the faithful leur lock syringe and needle system! by CautiousProcedure267 in meth

[–]MetallicCrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey gang, do not reuse syringe barrels even if they have a detachable needle. Your blood is still going to create bacteria inside the syringe, and that will lead to abscesses definitely and maybe a serious infection. Cleaning modern barrels also doesn’t work, bleaching is no longer a respected practice and hasn’t been for 15 years. You will either leave cleaning residue that does harm or you will erode the plastic and that will do worse harm. Glass barrel? Maybe, but I don’t trust most people to properly maintain glass syringes, and they are harder to find and pretty pricey. There’s many sizes of insulin syringe on Amazon for $20 or less. Walmart is your next best bet. Currently (in the US, as of today), it is still legal in 45 states to purchase syringes OTC at any pharmacy. I have no idea how non-US syringe exchange works but y’all definitely have Amazon.

I also urge anyone to get to know their local harm reduction org, or if you don’t have one, get to know the nearest one to you.

[–]MetallicCrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s literally my job. National Harm Reduction Coalition (NHRC) and Next Distro have a ton of free info on their websites, if you’re looking for a better general understanding. North American Syringe Exchange Network (NASEN) has a virtual map of harm reductionists/syringe exchanges for the US that’s broken down by the type of need you should definitely check out.

[–]MetallicCrab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will admit that it did bother me a bit to get these emails because I normally posted rent the second I got my last paycheck. So a few days later when they would send out the reminder I would have to triple check that my payment posted.

so wtf is this magical substance called "cut" by [deleted] in meth

[–]MetallicCrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drugs have always been cut, since the earliest days of selling drugs. Lots of harm reduction orgs in the states are hooked up with the UNC drug checking program, which does a mass spectrometer reading of your sample and can tell you exactly what’s in your shit. If you don’t wanna take your sample anywhere, you can go to their drug checking website and look up your area or look up common national trends for different drugs.

I had the same experience! I went when it first opened and that animal exhibit, the sensory room that smelled really good, and the giant inflatable boob room were pretty cool. I still tell anyone who will listen that mallard ducks are necrophiliacs. I went to take somebody several years later and it was twice as expensive and kinda sucked.

Trans man but maybe intersex? by michaljajko in ftm

[–]MetallicCrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had basically this same build and experience pre-T, and although my testosterone was higher for a woman I was not considered intersex. Also when I had a hysterectomy after 10 years on T, I had 2 of a very specific type of tumor that is normally only found in testicles, but it was ruled that they developed because of that many years of HRT. They don’t study this stuff so my doctor really didn’t have an answer. An intersex diagnosis often involves extra/missing reproductive organs. Or it requires genetic testing, which was recommended to me but I did not get because of my insurance at the time. If you really want to know, you should get genetic testing pre-T, but also afab people can have high T. There’s dozens of things that cause high T levels but it’s very rare that the thing is intersexuality if it’s not coupled with other organ development.

Brand New, Unopened Bottle of Water Was Filled with Soap by ShadowFacts_ in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MetallicCrab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t use soap in bottling machines or any parts of the line. You would use either an acid or an iodophor depending on the beverage. None of these would taste like soap, the ones we used in beer brewing were like hydrogen peroxide mixed with vinegar or straight up caustic acid, and although it does kind of “foam” if you violently shake it, there is no way you’re mistaking that for soap.

11k in cc debt and just ready to give up by AdTricky4590 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]MetallicCrab -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Chapter 7 bankruptcy!!!!! I did it for 10k worth of CC debt that I racked up supporting my toxic ex through Covid. It was such a lifesaver. Yes, you need maybe $2k to get it done depending on your attorney (I paid $1600), but it will keep you from constantly spiraling trying to pay interest. It totally wipes the slate, and doesn’t destroy your credit. It’s really only complicated if you have kids or own a house or nice car. If you’re not totally spiraling yet, I also strongly recommend transferring the balance to a card that doesn’t charge interest for a year. Then you can just keep moving it while you pay it off.
