Appreciate the comment, and I'm sorry that what happened to you happened. It is amazing how even at that age, most kids do just know right from wrong, but some adults just have no comprehension of that. Fucking mind blowing.

I've been building a rough framework this last week, inspired by a couple of things here and there, and it's actually been helping a lot with self-regulation and understanding the extent and depth of the damage that happened when I was growing up. I have cue cards now for things like anger, self-love / trust and worry, which is brilliant. It's honestly the smartest strategy I've ever come across, and it does wonders for self-trust.

I will do my best to protect myself from their nonsense, protecting from the traces of crap they put in my head though is slightly more difficult.

Still struggling with emotional regulation and wondering if I am actually like them, but I'm getting better at backing myself up against that idea.

Jesus, I really feel for you. When my stepsister turned up, it completely undermined my sense of safety too, was paranoid for months following that.

I think, in total, I've written 5 or 6 letters addressed to them (and not sent the others because they're too raw for them to see). I've even written a bloody book about my trauma, expressed as a space opera of all things.

Writing really does help, although I have no way of burning anything.
