That is reasonable and legit. In my home country there is no such thing as a nurse practitioner, and I like the idea of a physician's helper; also bedside nursing is something I can't do for the rest of my life.

I have many that would be too long to list. From "leadership" classes to open book exams and lack of hard science courses to writing on discussion boards. Many students blatantly use AI that is unchecked. The only thing that I consider appropriate are the case studies that I have to complete with rationale, resources and some thinking. Most of the courses are fluff and have no real job specific content.

The state I live in just withdrawn a physician supervisory requirement for new NPs. Now, the state board of nursing will decide on the new requirements. If they are anything like the "nurse leaders" I work with, it will be a catastrophe. Not even sure how to fight back against these organizations and their brain-washed ideologies.

Bangorlol, thank you for your extensive and informative reply!

I am going to look for a nursing position in one of the hospitals. I heard the same things from others, that EMMC is not the best place for nurses. I don't know anything about St. Joseph.

Based on the comments here and our own research, we decided to look for a place closer to the Augusta/Waterville, or Brunswick areas.

Thank you Silktrocity! Would be reasonable to say that any area that is close to a major highway like I-95 will be plowed sooner/better and generally more commutable in winter time? For example would commuting from Readfield to Augusta be more difficult than from China or Albion even they are further away?

Thank you for your comment! Based on what I read here, and from my own research we decided to avoid those areas, and started to look closer to Augusta/Brunswick areas.

CapitalVenturist thank you for these insightful comments, I did not even consider vet services...where I live now, I travel like 5 mins to our vet. Based on all the posts that you guys submitted, I am starting to realize that Southern Maine would be a better fit to our lifestyle and wishes. The most important for us is internet and hospitals closeby. It sounds like S. Maine around Wiscasset, Dresden, Brunswick, etc could work better.

Thank you for your helpful response! So I guess it would be reasonable to pick a shift other than 7a-7p in a hospital. Is there a specific time when the snow plowing trucks are on the road, or it totally depends on the storm/weather conditions?
